Engineering is the study of technology and MBA is the study to access those technologies in an organised manner . The MBA degree will provides the engineers to work in a more organized way. The candidates having dual degree will be having the knowledge of using the management skills and technical knowhow.
Going through the present scenario of unemployment , doing MBA would definitely be perfect .

  5. SANJANA KUMARI says:

In the present scenario, if u ask an Engineering student that would he like to go for a post graduation degree then he would reply .. ” yes I would only if I don’t get a job after my engineering.”. And I think out of 100 student only 20 would opt for M.Tech and the rest would go for MBA. So I do not blame Engineers if they switch their careers from Technical background to Management sector. I believe that lack of proper job opportunities in core sectors for Engineers has forced them to switch their career for better livelihood. I think that government and other private industries should look into the matter and try to develop proper job opportunities for Engineers so that they can work for the development of the nation.

management is field where person’s management mind matters not any educational background like commerce.

  8. Manisha Chawla says:

Engineers joining Management is not a National waste. In present scenario, it has become a necessity that
every person must have management skills. An engineer is supposed to develop and invent new technologies but if he/she is not proficient enough to manage them, then he/she can never gain the expected profit of his abilities.

  9. sumit mukherjee says:

Engineers joining in the management sector enhance their performance. But the base of a engineer that is to implement the new technologies in our present world is somehow covered by the management skill. So, before choosing a sector it totally depends upon the person that what is right sector for him and from where he can serve the nation……

  10. shreya sarkar says:

According to me engineers joining management is not a national waste at all. Specially in a country like ours where only the old departments of engineering are encouraged more than the new ones students are left with very few options but to join management and give a boost to their career. New departments like Water engineering, Biotechnology, Marine engineering do not have much scope in our country and student tend to go abroad. I think going overseas and earning for the foreign countries is a greater loss than doing management and getting a better job with a better salary.

  11. ARPIT TARAN says:

Engineers joining management is not a national wastage, it depends on the individual what he wants to do in his life. If a person is an engineer then as i think he can do job in his\her field for some years then go for management so both studies would be beneficial and depending upon your interests you can show your talent, so this would be good option.

  12. Harshita Rathi says:

I am agree with this topic that after engineering people join management field its a real waste of his/her talent. In management field an engineer cannot do his /her best. Engineers move towards this side just because of high salary package .An employee with Engineering & Management degree can handle the both technical department and management responsibility of a company.

  13. Saheli Dasgupta says:

knowledge is like an ocean, it has no end. hence i believe if a person is able in two fields at a time it adds a feather in his hat rather than marking it as ‘wastage’. a manager with sound technical knowledge can bring out the best in his technical subordinates, as he can direct and guide them all through. its not about changing profession, its about the choice of a person. if an individual with sound technical knowledge especially an engineer thinks that he/she is capable enough to manage things, has excellent PR skills then why should he not put them into good use if he wants to? its totally upto his preference. it is not a waste of any kind, in fact its an enrichment and added enhancement of a person’s productivity. i prefer a manager with excellent technical knowledge rather than the one who has absolutely no idea what is happening in his technical team that he is managing and supposed to be the head of.

  14. Sayanti Banerjee says:

Most of the technical knowledge gained by a mechanical engineer has no use in IT industry,so a mechanical engineer doing job in IT industry can also be termed as waste, but considering the fact “INTEREST” of a person depends on the stream they want to excel on.Education in any form is not a waste until one makes a mess of it.So i don’t agree on the point “Engineers Joining Management Is A National Waste”.

  15. Nilay Mazumder says:

it totally depends on how the engineers are using the knwldge they gain thru mba.. if they are doing it just because every one else is doing it… then it can be a waste.. otherwise by doing mba they are just polishing their skills and better business understanding would help them rise in their field..

  16. Priyanka Baidya says:

Engineers joining management is not a national waste. If they can use their talent of multitasking it will be very useful for them and also for the nation.
Management is a very important part of an engineer.
Now a days a company needs multitasking employee.
An employee with Engineering & Management degree can handle the both technical department and management responsibility of a company.
MBA helps the engineers to increase their salary package and as well as helps to increase the economical status of the nation.
So,every one should understand the value of each & every field & should utilize their talent as required because the utility of our knowledge depends upon us.

  17. Chandreyee Ghosh says:

Joining management is a complete waste of an engineer’s technical skill. Management courses are attracting engineers just because it has a high salary scale but it is completely injustice to their knowledge in technical field . Our county really needs their fresh and innovative thoughts for her improvement. So the engineers should concentrate on their technical study and should utilize their skill properly. After all money and fame cant be larger than their job satisfaction in technical field.

  18. Piyali Chattaraj says:

Yes engineers joining management is a great waste. After completing engineering if someone joins management then there is no value of his/her engineering. What a engineer can do after joining management that ca be done as same or more better by commerce student after joining management. But still engineers do this because of more money.
