Many students from all over the globe seek to take admission in different universities of Germany, but sadly many cannot afford to do so due to some crucial problems like financial need. So the German government along with many private foundations have started the provision of providing the scholarships to the international students who are talented and extra – ordinarily meritorious but due to financial need or some other problem can’t afford to take admission.

The scholarships which are available for the Masters in Germany are listed below:

1.       DAAD Scholarship Programs

This German Academic Exchange Service provides scholarship in Germany for the international students who want to pursue Masters’ from the universities in Germany. They mainly aim to provide the academically educated young professionals from the other countries, especially from the developing countries with specialized higher studies.
Eligibility: The international candidates who are holding their bachelors’ or equivalent degree completed with related subject, have at least two years of professional experience, age not greater than 36 years, having at least minimum score of 550 in paper – based, 213 in computer – based and 80 in internet – based exams of TOEFL and band 6 certificate of IELTS are eligible.
Scholarship Amount: EUR 750.00 per month including the costs of health, liability and accident insurance, traveling allowances, etc.
How to Apply: The candidates may apply either directly to the university or at the German Embassy or DAAD regional office before the deadline. The application forms are available at the website.

2.       Heinrich Boll Scholarships

The Heinrich Boll Foundation provides this scholarship to the international students who have gained their university entrance qualification from any institute outside Germany and who wishes to pursue their Masters’ from Germany.
Eligibility: International candidates who have pursued their undergraduate degree and are seeking forward for their Masters’ degree in Germany are eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship Amount: € 850 per month
How to Apply: Application needs to be done online but in German language. The application is available twice a year.

International Scholarship for Indian Students for pursuing Masters in Germany3.       KAAD Scholarships

This scholarship is meant for those international students who wish to pursue their higher studies from institutes of Germany. This scholarship is provided by the regional partner committees and is staffed by the university professors and church representatives.
Eligibility: Any international candidates who are having their undergraduate degree and also professional experience from their home countries are eligible for this scholarship. They must be coming from the developing or emerging countries.
Scholarship Amount: The amount that would be covering the cost of full academics.
How to Apply: The candidates have to apply online through the website. At the time of admission they should present either an admission letter or a confirmation letter by the university.

4.       Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Programs

The European Union offers this scholarship for the Masters’ degree to the students who dwell from developing countries and seek to pursue their higher education in Germany. This scholarship is awarded to the students who have been selected to attend one of the joint programs at Masters’ level.
Eligibility: The Erasmus Mundus Joint Programme defines its own selection criteria and admission procedures, so the candidates need to contact the Consortium that offers the Masters’ programme for details.
Scholarship Amount: The amount covering all the academic expenses including the living cost, tuition fees, travelling and insurance cost, etc. is provided.
How to Apply: Since each of the consortiums are responsible for its own application and selection procedures, so the candidates need to consult the consortium for all the details.

5.       Kofi Annan MBA Scholarships

The Kofi Annan MBA program provide opportunities to the talented and motivated students who belong from the developing countries, do not belong to privileged classes and have lack of financial means to study management.
Eligibility: Any international candidate who is holding bachelors’ or equivalent degree with minimum 3 years of professional experience, is having a good GMAT score, is fluent in English, etc. are eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship Amount: € 58,000
How to Apply: The candidates should apply online through ESMT’s website along with a short form for a preliminary check to determine whether they are eligible to apply or not.

    I’m Sohini Guha Roy, I have been selected for the Master program “Master of Science in Photonics” at the Abbe School of Photonics of the Fridrich Schiller University. But unfortunately I did not got their scholarship. It is quite impossible for me do the course without any scholarship. classes will start from 1st sep,2016. Is it possible to get any other scholarship? If possible please let me know how do I apply.
