India could be a Manufacturing Hub in coming Years. As a fact all are aware that India labor force is the world 2nd largest after CHINA. INDIA holds it place in the World’s fastest growing economies.

Nowadays, A normal life will be abnormal with out mobile, computers, internet. Everything behind this is TECHNOLOGY. IT gave us power to discover more. Right now it is possible for a 2 Year old kid to see the satellite view of the earth on a click of a mouse button in Google Map/Google Earth. We could talk/video chat to any person in the world with a simple login to SKYPE. No more slips we have carry in our pockets to drop it in bank door steps, you can do all in NETBANKING. Information Technology Era has changed the life of each and every human and as INDIANs we can proudly saw we are participating in the same sector to make life even simpler.

India has gained a mass face for IT/ITES/BPO and other back office processes, but we could also see more Foreign Direct Investments are flowing in for the MANUFACTURING/Mining/Power Generation.

For Ex: Chennai very famous for its IT presence has been witnessing FDI in Manufacturing. Chennai stands @ rank 2 in IT Exports after Bangalore of producing a GDP of 144, 214 crore during 2006-07. After recession Chennai faced JOB LOSSES in history majorly in IT/ITES sector. Later State Govt brought in more employment in Manufacturing, Power Generation[Wind, Solar, Nuclear].

Tamil Nadu state Govt revised the tax benefits and FDI in Manufacturing grown double in recent years, now Chennai is the base to around 30% of India’s automobile industry and 40% of its auto components industry. [9] A large number of automotive companies including Hyundai, Renault, Nissan Motors, Ashok Leyland, Daimler AG, Caterpillar Inc. , Komatsu Limited, Ford, BMW and Mitsubishi have manufacturing plants in Chennai.

The Ambattur-Padi industrial zone houses many textile manufacturers, and an SEZ for apparel and footwear manufacture has been set up in the southern suburbs of the city. Chennai contributes more than 50% of India’s leather exports.

Telecom and Electronics manufacturers based in and around Chennai include Nokia, Nokia Siemens, Motorola, Dell, Wipro, Zebronics, Foxconn and Siemens among others. Telecom giants Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent, pharmaceuticals giant Pfizer and chemicals giant Dow Chemicals have research and development facilities in Chennai.

Well, how many of you people know that Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu is major gold jewellery manufacturing hubs in India? Each and every DELL Laptop, Samsung LCD TVs manufactured in Chennai are labeled as Made in INDIA and sold across ASIA PACIFIC region.

    According to a survey by a mgazine it has been found that India is the most rapidly growing economy and will become a reputed IT hub in next 10-15 years.Because of number of development in many sectors India is still lagging behind many developed country in manufacturing and it is the responsibility of the private sector along with government to emphasize the weaker point to strengthen the economy more to compete in this globalisation era.

    Of course the Indians along with their country are making a speedy pace development in the manufacturing sectors as well.
    In few more years, the Indian sub-continent will emerge as a globally leading manufacturer on the international platform. But the available resources need to be utilized wisely and harnessed in a properly channelized manner otherwise, the growing economy might make a way to become a depleting one due to the shortage of resources.

    Resources must be routed properly – India is still having a lot of resources to be utilized and it must be properly routed. For instance electricity is wasted in many ways like electricity thefts, subsidy for electricity for farmers. These things can not be done when there is a scarcity of electricity. Therefore all the resources must be routed properly..so India can be Global Leader in Manufacturing..

    Its true that after independence we just lost our positions in the it market and at many other places. But now we are enough sourced in a number of sectors. It sector is one of them.
    Tcs, wipro, satyam, HCL etc are the companies which put our nation’s pname at higher in it market..

    It is the fact that INDIA is the second largest country which has the cheapest labour and available easily this proved INDIA in emerging as a leading country in manufacturing and it exports almost everything all round the world.     I have to agree with you Rakhi Kumari, me too accept that India is very fastly developing, now we have all the resource, human power, research centres and they are working with the future viewed eye to create all the innovative and betterment products

    i would like to add some serious notes with this as
    1) Best Firewall producing companies are in India
    2) The world 2nd ,4th,5th and 6th largest windmill producing companies are in India
    3) Almost for all muti milliner company spare ports are exported from India
    4) Mainly there are still the 5% food items are imported

    as my point denotes that India is developing Technically, by the future scope, as per the necessary needs so India now can became a New leader in the global market

        We have a skilled labour & because of a huge population, the numbers are also very impressive.
        We have the potential of providing manufacturing services at a grand scale as there are many of the needy youngsters who are ready to work with vigour.
        Even small towns & villages possess great talent who master the science of manufacturing & have a good domestic market of their own.
