OBEROI CENTRE OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT (OCLD)

If you are between 19 and 25 years of age and have successfully completed, or are completing a university or college degree in any subject including Hotel Management and wish to join The Oberoi Group as an Executive in Hotel Operations, join The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development.

The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD) was established in 1966. Today, management training programs at OCLD are considered among the best in Asia and a benchmark for international excellence within the hotel industry.

OCLD programs commence in July each year with the selection process beginning in September of the previous year. OCLD is based in Maidens Hotel, Delhi and offers the following two year Management Training Programs:

  • Guest Services Management (GSM) focuses on careers in two main guest contact departments; Food and Beverage Service and Front Office. On completion of this program you could one day become a Food and Beverage Manager or a Front Office Manager in any one of our hotels.
  • Housekeeping Management (HM) focuses on all housekeeping aspects of a hotel. On completion of this program you could one day become an Executive Housekeeper in any one of our hotels.
  • Kitchen Management (KM) focuses on culinary skills and the ability to manage kitchen operations. On completion of this program you could one day become an Executive Chef in any one of our hotels.

On completion of the OCLD program, you will get ample growth and development opportunities in the company. Most General Managers in the company today are from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development.

Generally there are seven round during the whole process of OCLD where Management Trainees are selected who are trained at OCLD New Delhi for period of 1 year to 2 years and then posted as Assistant Manager in different Departments of one of many Hotels of Oberoi Group.

OCLD or oberoi college of learning and development has introduced online education in field of Hotel education. This milestone has not been achieved by IHM’s yet.

I completed my Hotel Management from IHM Goa in 2005 and that year two of my friends cleared OCLD exams , I remember right then Alex and Nisha Lohat and next year Tanmay Vaidya also cleared OCLD
