T20 vs One Day Cricket : Which is better ?

I believe that T20 is not harming the pure tradition of cricket as we have seen that it actually helps the player train for the test matches. It requires more skills and strategy, more sense of the game and it tests the player to his best and show how much he can handle pressure. On the other hand people need to realize that that all these formats, whether its T20, 50 50 or test, are existing at the same time and the same team and same players play in these formats and they are versatile enough to adapt the these formats. And also ages before 50 50 replaced Tests and eventually people adapted that format and liked and now T20 is not only a major source of entertainment but also quick and short as people are really busy in their lives. Thus, T20 format has nothing to do with the destruction of ‘traditional cricket.

It is a game of full entertainment. Present scenario is like that we are very busy. So we are having no time to spend 5-6 hours daily to see the test match. Same thing in ODI also. 5-6 hours in a day we have to spend. Presently it is not possible for the cricket lovers also. T20 is a full of entertainment. We can enjoy the game in a very short time compare to ODI and test. Also the new comers, domestic and young cricketers get chance to play. Similarly I can say that test cricket is the classical cricket. But present scenario in like that we have to modify the concept that only test cricketers are using the skills but t20 cricketers are destroying the classic cricket.

Except a few like (KP, Gayle, Sehwag, Kohli, Shane Watson, Kallis, Jayawardene, Ross Taylor). So I think test cricket is real cricket which tests physical as well as mental aspect. But t20 can be used as development of cricket which can be played in non playing nations like (USA, Ireland, China, Russia, Argentina, Arab Country, Canada, Brazil) in these countries you can hold a world cup instead of hosting in cricket playing nation. i.e. good for expanding cricket and new country can also come for playing cricket. Test cricket always have a value and now one day cricket should be scrapped. Let there be test and t20 only.

as the days going very first no body have much more time to spent with doing nothing. we are living in 21st century. Here every thing has changed regular. So I personally feel that t20 is affecting the game of cricket but it’s not killing it. The ones who are ready to face the challenge of 3formats & are not letting the euphoria or fame that t20 provides go to their head are doing well in all the 3 formats… moreover t20s are the mode of entertainmemt nowadays…so, at any format of the game skills are required.

I don’t think t20 cricket is ‘KILL’ing real cricketing skills but it’s certainly affecting the game of cricket. Now, we see that the batsmen are becoming more adventureous & playing shots even in test cricket which they might not have tried about 10years back. It’s the batsmens actually who are being affected the most because the need to score runs quickly is making them more impatient day by day which is even showing in test format too. It’s upto the cricketers actually to look out for the cae about how much t20 is affecting their game in the other formats. Each format should be played differently. But one of the positive sides of t20 is that we are getting more results of test matches nowadays then say about 5years back which is refreshing for the spectators. Players like Kallis, Dravid , tendulkar , KP have adapted to all the 3formats equally & are not letting one format to affect the other. this should be the criteria for all cricketers. But t20 did help cricket to get players like Kohli , Raina , Broad , Pattinson , Morkel , Warner. And even Watson & Gayle’s game has flourished in the other formats after doing well in t20s. t20 also helps the bowlers to garner some skills to deceive the batsmen to get them out. Slower balls , Slow-Bouncers , carrom Balls are result of it.
So, all in all I can conclude that though t20 is affecting the game of cricket but it’s not killing it. The ones who are ready to face the challenge of 3formats & are not letting the euphoria or fame that t20 provides go to their head are doing well in all the 3formats. It’s upto the individual at the end of the day to decide whether they are ready to take the challenge of doing well in all 3formats and become a legend of the game or be happy enough by doing well in t20s only by becoming a t20 specialist.

t20 is not killing killing rel cricketing skills….. we must not puzzle test or odi games with t20s… because it is totally a different model of cricket…. it allows us to get accustomed with new talents…… rahane, kohli etc are jewels of the team which are selected in the team for thier t20 performances… and t20 is not a non-grammatical cricket… it also needs skills for getting through it…so it needs real skills… moreover t20s are the mode of entertainmemt nowadays…so, at any format of the game skills are required…

I don’t think that its actually happening…T20 gives chance to freshers…And there are players who perform better in this…We can see thta it attracts the same crowd like for other forms of cricket so we can say that it is found entertaining equally and without sticking to our televisions for days……

  11. Jagriti Singh says:

According to me T20 is killing the real cricket, as both has equal importance but T20 is more entertaining because it is less time taken. In today’s scenario people are usually do not have time for watching cricket, T20 takes less time of people. It usually promotes youngsters to show their talents in this field, and it give the chance to proof themselves.

  12. Shilpa Ranjan says:

Well in my view T20 is not at all killing real cricketing skills rather it make match more interesting and entertaining. Time is one of the biggest issue in this busy world so T20 format cricket can be seen in less duration of time. And this format of cricket enhance players skill of playing cricket and also prepares them to play well in test matches.

  13. patlakshi says:

As far as my views are concerned, I completely disagree with the given statement. Perhaps, i think 20-20 not at all is killing the spirit of cricket. Rather it is providing the space for more enjoyment in the minimum possible time. As in one day international one gets really tired of batting all through 2-3 hrs continuous and we as viewers also get bored by sitting around 2-3 hrs at a strech . So I think that 20-20 in the other hand is a better enjoyment to watch and enjoy.

  14. roshani mishra says:

No i dont think so T20 is hampering real cricketing skills…rather it hepls cricketers to enhance their skills more and they show their versatilty by adopting any format of cricket!!1
