The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the Civil Services Main Examination 2026 from August 21, 2026. With less than a month left, the Commission is expected to release the e-admit card in the first half of August on upsc.gov.in under the e-Admit Card section. Around 13,343 candidates who cleared Prelims on June 15 will compete for 933 notified vacancies this year.

What the e-Admit Card Will Carry
The Mains e-admit card mentions your roll number, centre address, paper wise reporting time and photo identity instructions. Candidates should carry a printout for every session along with the original photo ID mentioned in the admit card. If the photograph on the admit card is unclear, carry two passport size photographs with an undertaking, as UPSC has advised in earlier cycles.
DAF Rules Every Candidate Should Remember
The Detailed Application Form I was filled between June 19 and June 28. The details locked in DAF-I, including optional subject, language medium and service preferences, cannot be changed now. Candidates should keep a copy of the submitted DAF because interview boards later frame questions from hobbies, employment record and educational background mentioned in it. Any mismatch between DAF entries and original documents is checked strictly during document verification.
Final Month Plan for Mains 2026 Candidates
Toppers repeatedly confirm that the last four weeks decide the range of your scores. A simple structure works best.
- Week 1: Complete one full revision of GS Paper 1 and Paper 2 notes with previous year questions of the last five years.
- Week 2: Revise GS Paper 3 and Paper 4 with case study practice, and finish one optional paper revision.
- Week 3: Write at least two full length tests in exam time slots, including Essay and the qualifying language papers.
- Week 4: Keep only short notes, value addition points and current affairs of the last twelve months. Sleep cycles should match the actual exam schedule.

If you plan to write UPSC CSE in 2027 or 2028, note that Prelims 2027 is scheduled for May 23, 2027.
