What’s the update
The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has announced that the MHT CET final merit list for the current cycle will be released today. Immediately after the merit list is published, the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) choice-filling window will open on the same day.
What candidates should do now
Follow these steps in order:
- Visit the official MHT CET CAP portal at https://mhtcet2026.cap.mahacet.org once the link goes live.
- Log in using your application ID and password generated during registration.
- Check the final merit list displayed on the dashboard and download the PDF for your records.
- After verifying your merit position, click “Start Choice Filling” to enter your preferred institutes and courses in the CAP round.
- Save each choice and finally lock the list before the deadline; changes are allowed only until the locking window closes.
Documents checklist
Keep the following ready before you begin choice filling:
- MHT CET 2026 scorecard
- Class XII marksheet and certificate
- Caste certificate and non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable)
- PwD certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate (Maharashtra only)
- Passport-size photographs matching the uploaded ones

How long will the CAP choice-filling window remain open?
The conducting body will specify the exact duration on the portal; it is usually 5–7 days after the merit list release. Check the portal for the precise schedule.
Can I edit my choices after locking?
No, once you lock your choices the list becomes final. You can rearrange or add choices only before locking within the stipulated window.
What happens if I do not fill any choices?
If you do not participate in CAP choice filling, you will not be considered for seat allocation in any round. You may lose eligibility for the current cycle.
