• NDA (National Defence Academy): For school-leavers aged 16–19 who wish to train at the NDA before joining the services. The NDA offers a longer, more immersive training pipeline but is open only to Class 12 pass students.
• INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test): A direct-entry route for engineering graduates into the Navy. It is service-specific and does not require clearing the UPSC CDS.
