CBSE Class 12 timetable released for West Asian countries
Last Updated: Oct 13, 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Class 12 timetable for special board exams in West Asian countries, scheduled from October 23 to October 28. The exams are for students dissatisfied with their marks under a special assessment scheme due to exam cancellations in seven Middle Eastern countries.
| Country | Exam Dates |
|---|---|
| Bahrain | October 23 to October 28 |
| Iran | October 23 to October 28 |
| Kuwait | October 23 to October 28 |
| Oman | October 23 to October 28 |
| Qatar | October 23 to October 28 |
| Saudi Arabia | October 23 to October 28 |
| UAE | October 23 to October 28 |
Why were these exams postponed?
The CBSE had earlier cancelled the Class 12 board examinations in seven Middle Eastern countries—Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE—for 40 subjects, including 20 academic papers. This decision was taken due to the prevailing war situation in the region, as stated by examination controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.
How were the results declared for affected students?
Following the cancellation of exams, the CBSE released an assessment scheme on March 27 to prepare results for affected candidates. Under this scheme, results for all regular candidates from West Asian countries were declared on May 13, alongside other Class 12 candidates in India and abroad. The scheme provided a structured approach to evaluate students based on alternative criteria.
Opportunity for re-evaluation
Students who were dissatisfied with their results were given an opportunity to appear for exams in subjects that could not be held earlier. In the previous month, candidates were required to fill forms if they wished to appear for any such subject. The assessment scheme explicitly mentioned this provision to ensure fairness and transparency in the evaluation process.
Exam centres and admit cards
As per the List of Candidates (LOC) submitted by candidates, one examination centre has been fixed in each country. The admit cards for the Class 12 board exams for West Asian countries students have already been released on Monday. These admit cards are essential for students to appear for the exams and must be carried to the examination centre.
Finality of results
The result of these special exams will be final and will replace the earlier performance of the students. This ensures that the evaluation is comprehensive and considers the most recent performance of the candidates. The conducting body has emphasized that no further re-evaluation or review will be entertained after the declaration of these results.
