North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology the only deemed university in the state situated in Itanagar. Rajiv Gandhi University was established in 1984. It is the oldest university in the state. The University was converted into a Central University with effect from 9th April 2007 as per notification by the Government of India. This university right has seven colleges affiliated to it. One of its colleges offers 2 year distance learning program in MBA with all facilities like library, women techno park, health centre, auditorium e.t.c.
