There are so many courses are offered in the medical field but MBBS is the most popular degree course in medicine. This is the most designated and prominent doctor’s degree. This degree has always been in great demand.

This 4-5 year duration course is divided into nine semesters. It starts with general pre and para clinical subjects like pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and much more. The candidate has to go through 1 year internship after completing study. This course has been inexistence since 1996.

Admission in these courses depends on the score that you get in entrance exam.  Doctors have an esteemed place in the society as they have the power to save people’s life. So, many students in India opt for the medical courses. As we mentioned above that the MBBS program in India has duration of four and half years. After the course, the students have a compulsory one year internship to get their degree. The students need to learn about the various aspects of human anatomy during their course. So the course structure is as follows;

 

1st year MBBS Anatomy, Biochemistry,and Physiology (2 semesters)
2nd year MBBS Pharmacology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, and Microbiology (3 semesters)
3rd year MBBS ENT, Community Medicine, Ophthalmology (2 semesters)
4th year MBBS Surgery, OBGYN, Medicine, and Pediatrics (2 semesters)

 

The one year internship is compulsory for the students that have the following specifications;

  • One and half months long medicine internship.
  • One and half month long Surgery internship
  • Three months long rural internship.
  • One month long Pediatrics
  • One month long Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • One month long Casualty internship
  • Fifteen days long Anesthesiologyinternship
  • Fifteen days long Ophthalmology internship
  • An Elective that has the duration of 2 months

 

The total duration of the internship is one year that gives importance to the real-time, hands-on experience. During the internship period, the interns get stipend as per the Indian government orders. This period is quite important for candidates as it is like making a complete doctor to them. During internship period, they experience the real medical field. Candidates also offered with stipend during this period.

Once internships and semesters get over successfully, candidate get the MBBS degree. He/she can add ‘Dr.’ with the name.  When it comes to more about the career and salary after completing this MBBS course, it all depends on the knowledge the candidate has.
