Millions of students all across the world want to become doctors but highly competitive medical entrance exam become an obstacle in their path. There are so many private and government medical colleges that allow admission in their institutions after qualifying that pre-medical exam.   Some students study hard to get selected in the pre-medical entrance exam and get admission in government colleges. But every college offers the quality education and all the facilities that medical students require.   There are more than 200 MCI approved private colleges available in India. These colleges have more than 1000 seats. 65% of these seats are available for the candidates who qualify entrance exam and remaining seats are for the candidates who look for direct MBBS admission in such colleges.  The fee may vary from college to college.  It all depends on the popularity and rating of the medical college.

Many Indian students are aspiring to get admission for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). It is a course with a duration of 5.5 years that has 4.5 years of classroom study and one-year rotating internship.

The Eligibility Criteria for MBBS admission

Students who wish to secure an MBBS seat need to strictly abide the rules and regulations imposed by the MCI (Medical Council of India). So, they must have the following eligibility to take MBBS course in affiliated colleges in India;

  • The students of General category need to pass the 12th examination with at least 50% marks while the Backward Class students need 40% marks.
  • The students who have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission are only eligible for the course.
  • Entrance exams are conducted by the universities or colleges for the MBBS course that they students must write to secure high ranking to get the college of their choice.
  • Candidates have passed the secondary examination (PCB)
  • Candidate has secured more than 50% marks (for direct MBBS admission)
  • Candidate should qualify NEET exam
