Direct Entry to MBBS Programs in Indian Medical Colleges
Millions of students all across the world want to become doctors, but highly competitive medical entrance exams become an obstacle in their path. The fee may vary from college to college. It all depends on the popularity and rating of the medical college.
Many Indian students are aspiring to get admission for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). It is a course with a duration of 5.5 years that has 4.5 years of classroom study and a one-year rotating internship.
The Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Admission
Students who wish to secure an MBBS seat need to strictly abide by the rules and regulations imposed by the MCI (Medical Council of India). So, they must have the following eligibility to take the MBBS course in affiliated colleges in India;
- The students of the General category need to pass the 12th examination with at least 50% marks, while the Backward Class students need 40% marks.
- Only students who have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission are eligible for the course.
- Entrance exams are conducted by the universities or colleges for the MBBS course that the students must write to secure a high ranking to get the college of their choice.
- Candidates have passed the secondary examination (PCB)
- The candidate has secured more than 50% marks (for direct MBBS admission)
- Candidate should qualify NEET exam
The students with high marks are placed on the higher ranking list, which will assist in securing a seat in a good college that imparts a high-quality MBBS education. So, students must prepare well for their exams to secure good marks that will make the direct MBBS admission easier.
