He basically belongs from Delhi and has also completed his entire study from Delhi. He completed his early studies from Birla Vidya Niketan, New Delhi and completed his graduation in Economics from one of the best college in Delhi, St Stephan’s of Delhi University . He completed his masters in economics from Delhi school of Economics. After that he started preparing for the UPSC examination. He says that although he faced a lot of problems in his preparations but success is only achieved when you overcome those problems. UPSC has a low success rate because most of the people give up in between thinking that they wont be able to achieve. He also says that nobody can be successful at the first attempt itself. You should keep trying again and again until you reach your goal.
He himself could not clear in his first attempt. The main reason of his failure was that he had attempted 70 questions which were alot. He should not have attempted so many questions because it led to negative marking and he could not clear the cut off. He went for the 2nd attempt with his full preparation but this time he attempted more than 90 plus questions but only because he was sure of the answers. That is why he could clear the UPSC exams. He also says that it is his own strategy and every aspirant has his own strategy. So you also plan a strategy which is the best suited one for you.
He had also given the UPSC economic services exam which he cleared in his first attempt with a rank 1. Then he started working and with that started preparing for the IAS. It was very difficult for him to manage his studies along with the job. It is itself a great thing to manage job with studying as many people find it practically impossible to manage both especially when the exam is one of the most difficult one out of all. It is only because of his great academic skills that he could manage both.
In UPSC CSE 2019 Plutus IAS has Given Maximum Selection the IAS Exam. Out of 80 students, 43 have cracked the IAS Exam.
PLANS FOR PREPARATIONS
He also says that it is very important to stay up to date with the current affairs. He used to watch news and read newspapers on a regular basis. He says that it is very difficult and hard working but you should not give up. UPSC is definitely not an easy exam and you will find it difficult in the beginning but later on it will become a habit of studying.
He adds that in the mains essays and optional are the two main things and while choosing optional you should be careful and choose the one which interests you. He says that he did not do much answer writing and he did not even get much time to do it. The main thing he suggests that you should always make notes which are short and crisp.
Further he motivates by saying that even if you are not selected, do not ever think that all the opportunities for you are closed. Even if you could not clear this, there are many other options for you. He suggests to study at your own place as all the study material these days is available online. He gave all the credit of his success to his parents and thanked them.
