The post provides a sectional and an overall analysis of IBPS PO Preliminary Exam 2016 – 16 October , 2016

Hello friends, IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) successfully conducted its first preliminary exam on 16th October, 2016. A lot of aspirants appeared in the exam and will continue till 27th of October, 2016. This Post is dedicated in providing analysis of various preliminary exam of different dates .

The exam was conducted in four slots all over India . Moreover the mode of the exam was online. The IBPS conducts exam in two stages Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. The Preliminary exam will be conducted from 16 october to 27th October, 2016. The Mains exam will be conducted in the month of November.

First of all, let us discuss the exam pattern of the IBPS PO Preliminary Exam 2016 :

A candidate has to answer 100 questions in a composite time of  1 hour. There is provision of negative marking i.e .33  mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. Given below is the Subject wise Questions and marks split up

Let us now discuss the subject wise analysis –

Analysis of Reasoning Ability-

The reasoning section contains 30 Questions. The Level of the questions was easy to moderate. Sitting Arrangement was asked of both types that is circular sitting arrangement and linear sitting arrangement. Also, the complex type of sitting arrangement was asked. The level of difficulty was above moderate for these questions. Furthermore the Syllogisms asked were Easy. There were questions from inequalities, direction sense test and various puzzles which were of above moderate difficulty level. Therefore, given below is topic-question analysis in tabular form-

Analysis of Quantitative Aptitude-

This section also consists of 35 questions worth 35 marks. The section was typical in all three sections. The frequency of Data Interpretation was more this time and there were 2 DI with 10 Questions. Furthermore, questions were asked from almost all major topics. Analysis of English-

English is one of the phobic subject for most of the students.It is also very evolving subject. This trending change force the students to go through this analysis. The section consists of 30 questions. This time the use of obsolete english was also seen .The reading comprehension carried 7 questions. Furthermore, the Cloze test carried 10 Questions. Given below is no. of questions from various topics-

Candidates are advised to keep in touch the expected sectional and overall cut off will be released soon. Also, the analysis will be very useful for candidates having exam on future dates.

The result of prelims will be announced in the first week of November.
