The much anticipated of IBPS RRB office assistant Prelims 2018 was held today in four different shifts. A lot of aspirants appeared for the exam thus bringing them a step closer to the goal.

We interacted with many students throughout the day and these students helped us in analyzing the exam. We thereby have compiled for you all the details of today’s exam in this analysis. This analysis is going to help all those who have appeared for the exam, see where they stand in terms of good attempts. This will also benefit those aspirants whose exam is yet to come. You can analyze the difficulty level and the questions that were asked along with the marks distribution through this analysis.

OVERALL GOOD ATTEMPTS:

The exam overall was of easy to moderate level.

Shift 1:

Quantitative aptitude (Easy-Moderate)

The level of this section was easy to moderate. Some of the questions that were asked are:

• 2 DI consisting 5Qs each from Caselet and Bar Graph.
• Mensuration – Circle area was given, circumference asked?
• Arithmetic Word Problems- Boat & Stream(1Q), Age(1Q), Partnership(1Q) and the rest from topics like Mixture Allegation, Profit Loss, Average, Compound/Simple Interest, Time & Work, etc. They were time-consuming and difficult.

Reasoning (Easy-Moderate)

Like the Quantitative aptitude section, the reasoning section was of easy to moderate level as well. There was comparatively less number of questions on puzzles and seating arrangements in this shift. Given below are few questions asked in the exam:

• Puzzles – Box based Puzzle(7 boxes were given)
• Month based Puzzle(8 kids born in 8 months)
• Floor Based Puzzle (1 Qs only)
• Syllogism – With and Without Possibility
• Data Sufficiency – Linear Arrangement(1Q), Circle(1Q), Order & Ranking (2Q)

Shift 2:

Quantitative aptitude (Easy-Moderate)

The level of this section was easy to moderate. Some of the questions that were asked are:

• Find Wrong Number
• 3,5,7,11,13,17..?
• 6,7,9,13, 26, 37, 69
• 445, 221, 109, 46, 25, 11
• Data Interpretation
  • Caselet – 5 Qs
  • Line Graph – 5 Qs

  Word Problem

  Miscellaneous

  • Age based – 1 Q
  • SI / CI – 1 Q
  • Partnership – 1 Q
  • Profit & Loss – 1 Q
  • Time & Distance – 1 Qs

Reasoning (Easy-Moderate)

Like the Quantitative aptitude section, the reasoning section was of easy to moderate level as well. Surprisingly, there was only 2 set of puzzles and seating arrangements in this shift. Given below are few questions asked in the exam:

1. Sitting Arrangement ( Circular – 8 person sitting facing inside)

2. Letter Series ( series of 3 sets )

3. Biometric word was given ( Pair of letter was asked)

4. Floor Puzzle ( 6 floors & 6 people were asked to arrange)

5. Code of “Surface” is given and Surface+1 and Surface-1 is asked

Shift 3:

Quantitative aptitude (Easy-Moderate)

The level of the paper was easy to moderate. Questions asked in the exam were:

• DI – Tabular Based – 6Qs & Caselet based – 6Qs
• Age – 1Q
• Rectangle – 1Q
• Average – 1Q
• Integer – 1Q
• SI – 1Q
• CI – 1Q
• Monthly Salary related Question – 1Q

Reasoning (Easy-Moderate)

This section was of easy to moderate level as well. Questions asked were from:

• Arrangement of 8 persons and 8 Boxes(Box Puzzle)
• Parallel Arrangement – A,B,C,D,E are sitting facing North & P,Q,R,S,T are sitting facing south
• Floor Puzzle – Arrangement of 5 persons and 5 floors
• Coding and decoding – Sentence coded in numbers
• Blood Relation – Data Sufficiency based
• Direction and Distance – Data Sufficiency based
• Linear Seating Arrangement, double line, 8 people

Shift 4:

Quantitative aptitude (Easy-Moderate)

This section particularly was easier today and likewise in this shift as well, the paper was easy. The questions asked were:

DI – 5Qs each from Caselet and Bar Graph

Simple Interest – 1Q

Compound Interest – 1Q

Number Series – 5, 30, 150, 600, 1800, _

Reasoning (Easy-Moderate)

This section was of easy- moderate level. Following are the questions asked:

• Floor Puzzle ( 5 floor & 5 person were asked to arrange)
• Code of “Tension” is given and Tension+1 and Tension-1 is asked
• Puzzles – Box based Puzzle(5 boxes were given), Month Puzzle(6 kids born in 6 months), Floor Based Puzzles(5Q)
• Syllogism – Possibility/Without Possibility
• Data Sufficiency – Linear Arrangement(1Q)
