Indian revenue service is also one of the top most job in our country.Indian Revenue Service (IRS) is the service under Grade A of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India.Indian Revenue Service having two parts which are given below.

Indian Revenue Service (IRS) plays a vital role for the collection of the tax mainly income tax and wealth tax.and these two taxes are the major part of the tax in the whole country. this is 56% of all the tax.

1.IRS (Customer and central excise)-It is controlled by Central Board of Excise and Customer (CBEC).

2.IRS (Income tax)-It is controlled by Central Board Of Direct Taxes (CBTD).

Recruitment:

The recruitment of the IRS officers is from the two ways one is direct and another one is promoted officers.The direct candidate selected from the civil services exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and the promoted candidates are those who got promoted from garde B to Grade A after the years of the service.

Training:

Firstly the IRS Officers gone to the foundation course for 3 months to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of administration.after the completion of the course they proceed for the National Academy of Direct Taxes Nagpur. and the IRS officers also undergo to the training with Army and also with National Police Academy So they are prepared well in each field. Also the multi talented mans they are. The IRS officers are best in each and every section.

Roles and responsibilities:

the  Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers serves the country in many roles and responsibilities some of the main roles and responsibilities are given below.

1.Tax Administrator – the main function of the tax administrator is to collect the tax from the the people and may of the tax administrator are working for this in many ways.

2.Black Money – The Black Money is very big issue in the country and the IRS officers are working for it. they are searching black money for everywhere and this also the main responsibility of the IRS officers.The work of the IRS Officers are shown last year the Black money of the INR 10,000 carore they recover only in India.

3.Policy Formulation- The Policy formulation is also a main work of the IRS officers, The Appropriate policy interventions in the Direct Taxes are formulated by the IRS officers based upon the experience in the field formation and other relevant inputs from various sources and submitted to the Government through the CBDT.

4.Serving other Places-IRS officers are also serving in other various fields like in Ministries, Departments and other Organisations instead of serving the Indian tax Department.
