IIT JEE Main, one of India’s most anticipated engineering entrance exams, was conducted offline today for a rigorous 3-hour session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM across multiple centers nationwide. The online mode follows on April 15-16, opening doors to 23 IITs with 10,988 seats—an increase of 528 from 2017—for top B.Tech aspirants. Analysis of the examination
About 13 lakh candidates appeared for offline mode examination today Out of this only 2.2 lakh students will be shortlisted to Appear in JEE advanced 2018 . If you talk about question and marks then there were about 90 questions and students will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer where as negative marking Of 1 mark will be done for wrong answers. There were four sections. Each section was of 30 marks . Physics , chemistry and mathematics
Physics
Physics proved the toughest section in JEE Main 2018 among the three subjects, blending theoretical depth with calculator-based numericals. The paper balanced difficulty smartly: 4 tough questions, 20 moderate ones, and 6 easy—totaling 30 questions with 17 from Class 12 syllabus and 13 from Class 11. This mix tested conceptual clarity and quick problem-solving under time pressure.

Chemistry
Chemistry was Moderately easy but it was lengthy compared to other sections . in this section there was theory as well as calculations. There were 14 question from 12th standard syllabus and 16 question from 11th standard syllabus.

surprisingly this time maths was the easiest section amongst the three most of the questions were calculative. 10 questions were asked from 12th standard syllabus and 20 questions were asked from 11th standard syllabus.
