Objectives of Mathematical Olympiad

The Central Board of Secondary Education Mathematics Olympiad is conducted for all affiliated schools. Mathematics Olympiads are the competitions conducted by different organizations to nurture,  encourage, identify and promote the talent in mathematics at  regional, state, national and the international levels. Having been accorded the status of an independent group by National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) in 1997 CBSE is conducting CBSE group Mathematics Olympiad for students studying in its affiliated schools. Competition is conducted at different centers located in different parts of the country.Then top 30 students from CBSE group will participate in Indian National Mathematics Olympiad (INMO) conducted by National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM). The selection at national level leads to participation at the International Mathematics Olympiad.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

  • Any student studying in class XII, XI, X or IX can participate in the competition. Common Questions for all.
  • A school can sponsor upto five students for the competition.
  • The five students should be selected strictly on the basis of a screening test conducted by the school itself.

How to Apply ??

  • Principal will forward the names of sponsored students to the  state coordinator.
  • All necessary information related to the participating candidates should be sent to the state coordinator along with the fee before the last date.
  • The sponsored candidates should be bonafide students of the institution
  • The admit card to be issued by the sponsored school should have complete information about the students.
  • The admit card should also carry the signature of the student and his/her latest photograph duly attested by the principal.

Exam Pattern

  • Only in English, Candidates are required to answer the questions only in English.
  • Question Paper will consists of 6-7 questions
  • Total Time will be 3 hours

Fees To be Paid

  • Every Sponsored Candidates have to pay a sum of Rs. 55 as entry fees for the examination and it should be forwarded by the principal of sponsored school to the venue school in the form of demand draft in favour of the principal of the venue school.
