Software Testing refers to the process in which a software is checked about its consistency that how it will work when it will be used by consumer. In other words, software testing can be referred as an investigation conducted to provide customers with information about the quality of the product or its service under test. Software testing can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation. In the test techniques it is included, but is not limited to the process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding software bugs, i.e. errors or other defects.
Software testing can be stated as the process of validating and verifying that a computer program/application/product meets the requirements that guided its design and development; works as expected, can be implemented with the same characteristics, and satisfies the needs of stakeholders or customers.
Software testing, which depends on the testing method employed, can be implemented at any time in the software development process itself. If we talk about the tradition, then most of the test effort occurs after the requirements have been defined and the coding process has been completed, but in the usual approaches most of the test effort is on-going. As such, the methodology of the test is governed by the chosen software development methodology.
When the customer has given the order for the respective software he/she need, then it is expected by the stakeholder that the software is that good. But it is also true that testing can never completely identify all the defects within software. For such situations, the software testers have very good approach in which they usually test the software and try to check every module they can so that their primary approach for testing concludes and they may again tell the developers that what they have to recheck and redevelop to make the software work as needed.
