Staff Selection Commission:
Staff Selection Commission(SSC) is an Indian association to select staff for different posts in the different Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. Athough we recommend coaching books for SSC exams because coachings keep on updating their study material at regular intervals where as books just rely on old question sets and re publishing is done.
This commission is a connected office of the Department of Personnel and Training which comprises of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.
The Estimates Committee of the Parliament prescribed the setting up of a Service Selection Commission in its 47th report(1967-68) for directing examinations for recruitment to lower classes of posts. Later, in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, On 4 November 1975 Government of India constituted a Commission called the Subordinate Services Commission. On 26 September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission renamed into Staff Selection Commission.

The opportunities of the Staff Selection Commission were reclassified by the Government of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in 21 May 1999. At that point the new constitution and job efficiency of the Staff Selection Commission became effective from 1 June 1999.
