The minimum eligibility criteria for UPSC exam is that a candidate should be a  graduate or a diploma in any field and should be 21+ to 30 years of age . The number of attempts are limited to 6 for the general candidates and 9 for the SC/ST/OBC candidates . This exam consists of 3 phases – the preliminary level , the mains , and the interview round . The preliminary level consists of 2 papers ,namely general studies and general aptitude , each of 200 marks . The papers are objective type with multiple choice of questions . Then comes the mains , this round consists of 7 papers where one of the paper gives the provision of an optional subject ( a choice is to be made out of the 26 subject choices provided ) .  This is followed by the interview round where you indeed need much of confidence.

We’ll, if all of this sounds unaccomplishable to you then you are wrong indeed ! The UPSC exam is not like any university exam , it mostly consists of the 10th and +2 standard syllabus , and very importantly general awareness . Now, this is something we all lag behind . So , it is very important that aspirants cope up with their general awareness of both international and national importance .
Students often fear of competitive examination , especially when it comes to UPSC exam. There is a pervasive blunt idea amongst the students who more or less claim to know about UPSC exam that it is the toughest examination on the Earth , and it is next to impossible to crack . This idea is mostly rumoured and inculcated in the students mind to set back a couple of potential aspirants . Well, for those who are  victimized by the same , let me tell you that if things are seen in the way of impossible then nothing can be achieved . If you have  the motive , the purpose , the focus , and the willingness for the endeavours to be put in it , then nothing can be made impossible. A bit of perseverance , hard work , commitment is what you need to get through any exam of life. For all those frightened candidates here’s an example for you – an IAS  topper who failed class VI . Rukhmani Riar who did not believe in coaching and cracked the exam in her first attempt and stood 2nd in the rank in the whole of India -UPSC exam. Thus, nothing’s impossible if you believe in yourself ,and you got the apt and willingness for it .
