Class 10th is the base of achievements in student’s life and career ahead. A good result in the secondary examination to a great extent will decide as which stream one has to choose for making a bright future.
Hence, it is important that students get a proper guidance and understanding in the study methods of class 10th subjects .
LET US GET TO KNOW IN BRIEF ABOUT CBSE EXAMS
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national-level education board for public and private schools in India, functioning under the Union Government. CBSE mandates all its affiliated schools to follow the NCERT curriculum, ensuring a standardized and comprehensive education framework across the country.
CBSE affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by central government of India.
The first education board to be set up in India was the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education in 1921, which was under jurisdiction of Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior.
Strategy to study for Class 10th Board Exams for CBSE

Start early
Many students ignore their body clock during exam preparation, often staying up late at night and sleeping in the morning. To avoid this, start your timetable well in advance, allowing enough time for revision. You may even need to create multiple schedules to manage different subjects effectively. Time management is a crucial factor in achieving success.
2. Give a colour mark to each subject
It will be easier to navigate your timetable and you will be able to see more easily if you have a fair balance between all of your subjects. Also, it looks visually better.
3. The initial : Planning
Don’t just jump straight into it. Think things through first that what all you need to do first.
4. Break it down in achievable targets
Take a separate paper and under each subject, list all of the things that you need to know. This might be all the topic areas for that subject, what you covered each week in class/tuitions or the different sections of the exam.
5. Be very specific
Be sure what you exactly need to do in order to feel confident of completing all the steps .That is in any of the topic area list the exact page numbers and exercises that you will do so that when you finally finish it you will feel excellent.
6.Create a schedule for one subject at one time
Always maintain a timetable and be sure that you’ve covered everything. Be realistic with how long each exercise is going to take.
7.Factor in time for Breaks
You need to give yourself a break while preparing thoroughly . Do consider time taken to eat or sleep. The night should be taken off for complete rest. Never ever forget your hobbies in exams time.

Mix and study your subjects and not continue with just one
Always mix your subjects while studying throughout a day so that you don’t loose your interest quickly. You can also have different time of a day for each subject according to your preference.
9.Dont set yourself to the time limit
Its not necessary to set yourself within the time boundations and could find ways to improvise. Try to set a specific time everyday and you might find things going easy.

Exam Preparation Tips
Board exams are not about ‘mugging’ anymore. Open Book assessments in Class IX and XI aim to encourage students to develop analytical and problem-solving skills. Here are a few tips to score well in Class 10 board exams, without compromising on the quality of education –
- Find a study corner: A suitable environment goes a long way in enhancing your focus. If you do not have a separate room to study, find a quiet corner for yourself.
- Do not ignore health & fitness: Since a healthy mind lives in a healthy body, pay attention to your fitness. Avoid junk food and sugar and drink plenty of water and fluids. Play sports and do physical exercises regularly.
- Fun as reward: While watching TV, playing computer games, and talking to friends can be a great distraction for a school-going student, you can indulge in them once in a while as a ‘reward’ to yourself whenever you are able to follow your timetable successfully for six days at a stretch.

Periodic Test (10 marks):
The school should conduct three periodic written tests in the entire academic year and the average of the best two will be taken. The schools have the autonomy to make its own schedule. The school will take the average of the best two tests for final marks submission.
Notebook Submission (5 marks):
As a part of internal assessment it is aimed at enhancing seriousness of students towards preparing notes for the topics being taught in the classroom as well as assignments. This also reviews the critical aspect of regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep.
Subject Enrichment Activities (5 marks):
These are subject specific application activities aimed at enrichment of the understanding and skill development. These activities are to be recorded internally by respective subject teachers.
For Languages: Activities conducted for subject enrichment in languages should aim at equipping the learner to develop effective speaking and listening skills.
For Mathematics: The listed laboratory activities and projects as given in the prescribed publication of CBSE/NCERT may be followed.
For Science: The listed practical works / activities may be carried out as prescribed by the CBSE in the curriculum.
For Social Science: Map and project work may be undertaken as prescribed by the CBSE in the curriculum.
