SO IT officer: Specialist officer IT

Specialist Officer (SO) IT, IT Officer, or Specialist IT Officer all refer to the Information Technology cadre in banks. Candidates applying for these posts are generally required to have an engineering degree in Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science (CS). Some banks also allow candidates from Electronics or related streams. The major recruitment bodies for these posts are IBPS and SBI, which conduct exams and select candidates for various public sector banks.
