UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021: Gamini Singla Ranks Third
Coming third in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021, Gamini Singla hails from Punjab. It is her second attempt. She credited her success to uninterrupted self-studying, 9-10 hours daily preparation time apart from coaching in Patiala. According to her, her father’s contribution in this journey was more than critical. With a B.Tech in Computer Science and Sociology as her optional subject, she said she wanted to serve in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and contribute towards the development of the nation. This achievement not only shows her hard work but also sets an example for aspiring women in competitive exams.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the 2021 Civil Services Examination (CSE). It saw Punjab’s Gamini Singla at the top of the ladder, ranking impressive third. This time in her second attempt in the exam, she not only passed but even emerged among the top few, attributing most of her success to credible self-study and support by her father.
Women Empowerment by Hard Work
Gamini said in excitement after the achievement, ‘Women can do anything by hard work and dedication.” CSE results 2021 revealed greatly brightening performances of women. Shruti Sharma and Ankita Agarwal took the first to second rank, respectively.
A Dream Comes True
The Civil Services Examination Passing has indeed brought joy to Gamini as she puts it across thus: “I am very happy. It feels like a dream come true.” She wants to work with the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and stated, “I aspire to develop the nation and its people.”
Study Strategy and Support
Gamini explains her studying techniques and mentioned that she studied about 9-10 hrs a day. She joined coaching in Patiala under Vinod Sir but did mostly self-study for the examination. She had given the credit to her father, who influenced her most positively in preparation. Both Gamini’s parents are medical officers in the Himachal Pradesh government.
Breaking Barriers
According to Gamini, this is the way for every woman to realize that nothing can be achieved without hard work and dedication. Completing her B.Tech in Computer Science, she opted Sociology as her optional subject for the Civil Services Examination.
An Overview of Final Results by UPSC
The overall results of the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2021, indicated that a total of 685 candidates-the males: 508 and 177 females-qualified in the exam. The commission has, however, recommended those names for the appointment of different central services.
