Aditya Srivastava: UPSC CSE 2023 Topper’s Inspiring Journey

The ranks of India have left Aditya Srivastava at the topmost after the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 were announced by UPSC. Aditya Srivastava from Lucknow became an “All India Topper”. The announcement of results caught waves of fresh congratulations at his residence in Eldico IIM Road. The inspirational tale of Aditya is one filled with resilience, hard work, and a lot of fiery determination.

Family background:

Aditya Srivastava is now an Under Trainee IPS Officer in Hyderabad. His father is Ajay Srivastava, who has been working as an Assistant Accountant in the Central Audit Department while his mother Aabha Srivastava takes up the job of a homemaker. Shivram Srivastava is his grandfather, who is a retiree from ITI. He has a younger sister named Priyanshi, who is, at present preparing for the Civil Services examination in New Delhi.

Educational Journey:

Aditya completed his 12th grade from CMS Aliganj, Lucknow, and went on to pursue his B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Kanpur. Initially, Aditya worked in private companies before he decided to chase his dream of joining the Civil Services. Alongside, he was awarded a scholarship that covered his entire tuition fees for B.Tech.

Initial set back and impulse:

He is inspired by his uncle, Vinod Kumar, a IAS officer, director of the Lwasna Training Academy, in Mussoorie. The first time, Aditya didn’t clear the preliminary examination and faced one setback. However, this failure did not put an end to his relations with the exam. Through his later attempt, he got about the Indian Police Service (IPS) with a rank of 236. He didn’t stop his preparations, and ultimately, in his next attempt, he became an IAS officer.

Independent Study and Strategy:

Aditya never really joined any coaching institutes during his entire preparatory course, but simply was into self-study. His strategy was that he must cover a very huge syllabus at UPSC, and that really called for a definite map. He chose Electrical Engineering as optional and worked hard to clear up his concepts. He used to listen to music during preparation and then began studying. He would only come out from his room to have meals.
