CBSE released the marking scheme for Bhasha Melayu (Bahasa Melayu, the Malay language) Class 10 exam in 2017-18 along with sample question papers. It covers a standard 3-hour, 80-mark paper focused on reading comprehension, writing, grammar, translation, and literature from the prescribed syllabus.

The scheme divides marks across sections like unseen passages (20 marks for answers on vocabulary and summary), grammar tasks such as fill-in-the-blanks, sentence correction, and word formation (20-25 marks), translations between Malay and English (15 marks), and essay or letter writing (15 marks for content, structure, and language).

Literature questions test prescribed texts with points for explanations, central themes, and expression (20 marks). Value points emphasize accuracy, fluency, cultural relevance, and idiomatic Malay usage.
