One of the steps which it took was establishing a large number of commerce colleges across Nagaland,since nowdays , education in the field of commerce is as much important as that of science. 1) The Baptist College located in Kohima, Nagaland

3) Nagaland institute of Education:
The Nagaland institute of Education, Kohirna (also known as Nagaland College of Education) was established in the year 1975. This college was established for improving the quality of education at the Secondary level. It was through the joint effort of the State Government that thisCollege was established. Dr.K.J.Joseph who served as the a Reader at NEHU,Kohima campus was made the ex-officio Principal of the College in the 1975 also,Shri.O.Kathipri who was at that time the Special Secretary Education,Government of Nagaland inaugurated thius college .The College is producing better results every year. This is evident by the fact that a record was made by the 2008 batch. The pass percentage was 96.95% , 62 in first division and 2 more in the second division. The College also won laurels for the year 2008 when two of NCTE staff, Dr.Rukhono Iralu ,Vice-Principal, and Mr.Neizieo, UDA were awarded the Meritorious Award and the Commendation Certificate respectively.
