WHAT IS ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION?
Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering stream is a combination of both Electronics and instrumentation subjects. In Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering , Here we can define Instrument by which we can measure or regulate physical quantity and process variable such as Temperature, Flow, Level, and Pressure. There are many types of instruments like Thermocouple, RTD, Thermistor, different types of Valves, Transmitter etc which produces an output signals may be in current (4-20mA), voltage, frequency etc. Now this signal is sent to the PLC, DCS, SCADA, Lab View or other types of computerized system where it converted into readable values.
We can also define Electronics as which deals with electrical circuits and also deals with the emission of electron. This is completely different from Electrical and Electro-Mechanical technologies. Electronics is a study of the dynamic behaviour of electrons in semiconductor. The ability of electronic device is to act as switches, makes digital information processing possible by using wires, motors, generators, batteries, transformers, relays, resistors etc.
Now we can say that the study of instrumentation is the development and implementation of electrical and electronic instruments for the purpose of measuring, monitoring, recording and displaying physical phenomenon. This Electronics and Instrumentation Branch is recently introduced in engineering field.

ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERS’ PURPOSE:-
The engineers who are specialize in Electronics and Instrumentation they can easily design, develop and fabricate various Electronic related accessories. They are involve infield of automation which being one of the latest trends in all industries in India as well as in all World.
CAREEER PROSPECT:-
Among several branch of engineering one of the special branch is Electronics and Instrumentation, which deals with electronics equipments and instruments for measuring, controlling and maintaining them. This branch of engineering is very useful for many different areas like telecommunication, robotics, biomedical, computer control in process application, VLSI, fiber optics etc. It is very applicable in industry.

General engineering
- General math (math -1, 2, 3, 4).
- Management paper.

- Physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, chemistry.
- Electronics subject (Basic Electronics, Analogue Electronics Circuit, Digital Electronics Circuit, VLSI, Advanced Electronics Circuit, Power Electronics, etc.)
- Instrumentation subject (sensor and signal, Process control Instrumentation
Fiber Optics Instrumentation, Industrial Instrumentation, etc.)
These courses help the electronics & instrumentation engineers to work in industry with automated processes, such as chemical or manufacturing plants, with the goal of improving system productivity, reliability, safety, optimization and stability.
FUTURE SCOPE:-
Engineers can get job in private sectors like N.F.L., BHEL, Honeywell, Samsung I, IOCL, and SAIL or in heavy industries such as Thermal Power Stations, Steel Plants, Refineries, and Cement and Fertilizer Plants BOTH IN Govt. as well as in many IT sector companies like TCS, Infosys, and Accenture where huge number of electronics & instrumentation engineers are required. Electronics & instrumentation engineers can make their career bright because the scope of the electronics instrumentation is vast and growing rapidly due to the increased use of automatic control in process plants.
CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:-
- Must have passed 10+2 (higher secondary) examination with mathematics
Physics, and chemistry with at least 45% marks for General Candidates, 40%marks for SC / ST candidates and at least 30% marks in English for all.
- Must seat for (J.E.E.) Joint Entrance Examination.
