Football is very popular in the World and, In India the cricket is most popular so football only means a play for India not such huge think like Cricket.
Football in India is the second largest popular play after cricket. In India it enjoyed in states such as Goa, Kerala, West Bengal etc. The popularity is huge after cricket but not globally popular in India because of not good planning by our government and lack of investment is the main problem of less availability of football in India.
Football is a very good and powerful play as compare to other plays in India. But India think that it is not our region play that’s why they didn’t plan for this play. And some other regions that is we are not good in this play and we also not practice for it this is also the region of not using football for the large state and this makes India less popular in football.
If government want then it is possible to make football as popular as cricket only with some little effort that is make the advertisement program for football in national level and also organize the national level events for football that makes football popular in India like cricket.
Football makes human fit because in this play all the player need to run off all the time during the play i.e. 45 min + 45 min that makes human body fit as compares to other play and that’s why It is the famous play all around the World. But in India it didn’t mean.
In India the football is popular in big cities or metro cities not in small cities and villages that’s why the popularity is small and even 70% of population didn’t know the rules of football the government in the big region for this and if we want to make this play popular as compare to cricket then we have to create some policies that create football popular as cricket. The football is the play about 90 min while the cricket is around 6 to 7 hrs play so the football is good and less time consuming for audience and make people happy.

Football is not that much popular in India as in other countries. It is true cricket is most favorite of all. Football have not that type of popularity, fan following, encouragement. So not too much youngster are going to make it as a carrier. Due to lack of proper investment, attention it remain in some part of India only. Our football players do not get that much of facilities and training so they do not have that much of potential to at least get selected in world cup.our government is not paying attention to encourage this game in India.
Football is famous all over the world, here in India people are fond of playing football but here government doesn’t focus on this. If we talk about sports in India, everyone used to do conversation about cricket. This is because of the more importance given to the cricket. Our country just need encouragement because many people here like to play football.
Football is a game played by 11 players.This is only the status of this game in our country.Less money, no future prospects and almost no investors in this game are few factors which is responsible for a youngster for not choosing it as an carrier prospect.
If we look at a glance we can easily find out the depreciation in the performance of Indian football team in last 10 year as the world rank decreases from 127( in 2003) to 166( in 2013). Most Indian people cann’t even recognize the face n know the name of national players but only Baichung Bhutiya. This is only a fault of Indian system that they don’t give any emphasis on the improvement of this game like cricket
