The CBSE Class 10 French marking scheme for 2017-18 is for an 80-mark, 3-hour board exam. It explains how marks are given in each section so evaluation stays fair and consistent.

Section A covers reading skills. Marks are awarded for correct, relevant answers based on comprehension of unseen and seen texts.

Section B is writing (expression écrite). Letters, messages, dialogues, and short compositions are marked for content, clarity, organization, grammar, and vocabulary, with full marks allowed for any clear, creative answer.

Section C is language (grammar and structures). Questions on tenses, pronouns, questions, negatives, subjonctif, direct–indirect speech, etc. carry small marks each, with partial credit if the structure is mostly correct.

Section D is culture and civilisation. Answers based on French culture, geography, and civilization are marked mainly on correct information and understandable French; minor spelling or accent errors do not usually lose marks.
