HIMACHAL PRADESH STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION(HPSSC)
WHAT IS HPSSC?
HPSSC stands for Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Committee . This organization was setup in 1998 with head office at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
Majorly the commission is responsible for recruiting candidates and suggesting job opportunities across the state for various posts. The commission carries out recruitment via 3 stages of written practical and interview tests.
The commission also looks that no biasedness or partiality is done in recruitment with only the merit being the criteria for selection.
This commission also lends suggestions and advice to the state government on different policies of recruitment across the state for various level posts.
Recruitment carried out by HPSSC is done by two methods-
- Recruitment with exam and viva-Here the candidates need to appear for the written examination and then they are called for viva and the final selection goes after the merit list. This includes job posts for-Himachal Pradesh Administrative services, Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services, State Forest Services, Forest rangers
- Recruitment with exam and without viva- Here the in- services candidates are put to give examination and are selected without viva on the basis of merit . The job posts here is State Account services.
- Recruitment through interview followed by screening-If the number of students increase then this procedure is adopted and after the screening they are called for interview and are selected on merit list.The various job posts under this are Medical officer, College cadres lecturer , Assistant engineers, Assistant district Attorney, District Public Relation Officer,
- Recruitment through interview without screening– In this case the candidates are less in number hence they are directly called for interviews and are selected on merit basis. The job posts here are Assistant Professors for medical/dental colleges, Director Sainik Welfare, Deputy Director Sainik welfare, Commandment Home Guard,
The selection procedure for HPSSC includes an objective pattern of screening exam, PST and PET remain as the criteria though all candidate are required to qualify in all for sure..
