IAS Officer Awanish Sharan’s Inspiring Journey from Failure to Success

IAS Officer Awanish Sharan is from the 2009 batch of the Chhattisgarh cadre, and this time he inspired countless students with his journey of struggle and setbacks in his recent post on social media. In his post, he revealed how he transformed all failures into stepping stones of success.
Sharan shared that he scored only 44.7% in his tenth grade. This is the point of entry into his journey, which is not an easy journey. There were loads of crises in terms of worthless repeated failures in competitive exams. But his determination to perform never budged.
Persevering Failures and Abiding Continuity
IAS Officer Awanish Sharan did not let repeated failures on competitive exams induce him to stop trying-thirteen times failed to clear any competitive exams, Sharan said about it. He continued to sahare story of his failures because at some point he had not cleared this exam-CDS (Combined Defence Services) exam, CPF (Central Police Forces) exam, and failed more than 10 times in the preliminary stages of the Rajya Public Service Commission-exams. But each failure only drove him further to continue preparation and strive toward success.
Andholding the Odds: One Step Nearer to IAS
After few attempts with different examinations, Sharan gave the UPSC Civil Services Examination. It was his first attempt and he made it to the interview stage; by his second attempt, he had succeeded in clearing his exam with an All India Rank of 77. In 2009, he was allotted to the prestigious Chhattisgarh cadre with his dreams coming true as an IAS.
Journey in Education: A Journey from Average Scores to IAS Officer
Apart from failure at several examinations, Sharan also shared how poorly he fared in the academic aspect. He achieved 44.7 percent in 10th, 65 percent in 12th, and about 60 percent in his graduation. Such scores could easily discourage most into thinking impossible about his future but Sharan’s case shows that it’s not marks that really determine a destiny but mere determination, hard work, and never giving up at last.
A Source of Motivation
Sharan post got trending in social media and appreciated by quite a number of people for his fervor and hard work. His story reminds you that perfection in grades or being the first are not the traits of success; rather the fight goes on and the person doesn’t give up, no matter how many failures are encountered.
In one of his posts, a user commented, “It proves that the marks you get in school or college do not shape your destiny. What matters is hard work and dedication.”
It is indeed a wonderful inspiration for young minds. It shows that one can walk through the toughest hurdles with determination and a willingness to fight.
