Concise Guide: CBSE Class 10 Kashmiri Exam (2017-2018)
The CBSE Class 10 Kashmiri examination followed a 100-mark assessment model in 2017-2018, blending a major external exam with school-level evaluation.

The 80-Mark Theory Paper
The three-hour main theory paper was allocated 80 marks and divided into four proficiency-based sections:

Reading Comprehension (15–20 Marks): Assessed the student’s ability to understand and interpret unseen passages.

Writing Skills (15–20 Marks): Tested composition abilities, including letter writing, essays, and short compositions.

Grammar (15–20 Marks): Focused on the rules of the Kashmiri language, covering vocabulary, tenses, and sentence structure.

Literature (25–30 Marks): The largest section, dedicated to questions based on the prescribed Kashmiri prose, poetry, and folk texts.

Internal Assessment (20 Marks)
The remaining 20 marks were assigned by the school for Internal Assessment. These marks were based on consistent performance in periodic tests, timely notebook submission, and participation in various Subject Enrichment Activities throughout the academic year.

This structure ensured that the final grade reflected both the student’s core language competence and their consistent effort during the course.
