Kerala PSC Recruitment 2026: Category 23 to 38 Notifications, OTR Process and What Comes Next
Last Updated: Jul 19, 2026
The Kerala Public Service Commission has rolled out one of its largest notification batches of the year. It covers Category Numbers 23 of 2026 through 38 of 2026. These were published through an Extraordinary Gazette dated 30 May 2026. The application window for this batch closed on 1 July 2026. Candidates are now waiting for the next stage. This is a good moment to understand how Kerala’s unique recruitment system works, and what qualified aspirants should do next.
What This Notification Batch Covers
The 23 to 38 series spans a wide range of posts across many departments. These include Dairy Extension Officer, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector, Child Development Project Officer, Police Constable Driver, Lower Division Typist, Office Attendant, Junior Health Inspector Grade II and Security Officer. Recruiting departments include Dairy Development, Kerala Police, Health Services, the Motor Vehicles Department, Women and Child Development, Kerala Water Authority and several state universities.
How Kerala PSC Recruitment Is Different
Most state public service commissions run separate prelims, mains and interview cycles for each advertised batch. Kerala PSC works differently. It runs mainly through its One Time Registration portal and a rank list system. Once a written exam is held for a post, PSC publishes a rank list. That list usually stays valid for about three years. Vacancies that arise during this period get filled from the same list as departments report them. So a single successful attempt can lead to multiple appointment offers over time. This is quite different from the one shot prelims and mains cycle used by most other states.
Applications for these posts go through the OTR portal at no cost. The portal stores a candidate’s profile, qualifications and documents. This makes future applications faster once the initial registration is done.
What Happens After the Application Window Closes
Once an application period ends, Kerala PSC finalises the list of eligible candidates. It then announces the exam date and syllabus for that post. Later comes the written test, followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates. Aspirants who applied under Category 23 to 38 of 2026 should now watch the official PSC website for exam date announcements. Kerala PSC handles a very high volume of notifications. It schedules exams post by post rather than as one combined cycle.
Preparation Priorities While You Wait
- Revise Kerala specific general knowledge, including state history, geography, renaissance movements and current affairs.
- Build strong basics in general English, general science, arithmetic and mental ability. These are common across almost every Kerala PSC post.
- Read the post specific syllabus carefully once released. Posts like Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector or Junior Health Inspector carry extra technical components.
- Keep your OTR profile updated with your latest photograph, signature and educational documents. This avoids delays in future applications.
A Note for 2027 and 2028 Aspirants
Kerala PSC rank lists stay valid for an extended period. The commission also issues fresh notifications through the year. So this is not a one time opportunity confined to 2026. Students still in their final years of graduation, and targeting 2027 or 2028, should start building their general knowledge and aptitude base now. New notification batches for similar posts appear on a near continuous basis.
