Limboo MARKING SCHEME FOR (CLASS X 2017-18 ) CBSE Board Exam MS blueprint for cbse 10 exam
The Limboo Theory Paper for the CBSE Class 10 Board Examination (2017–2018) was designed to assess students’ overall language proficiency in a balanced and systematic manner. The paper carried a total of 80 marks and was divided into four well-defined sections, each focusing on a specific language skill.
Section A: Reading Comprehension (15 Marks)
Section A tested the students’ reading and comprehension skills. Candidates were given unseen passages and asked to answer questions based on them. The questions included Very Short Answer Questions (VSAQ) and Short Answer Questions (SAQ). This section mainly assessed vocabulary, factual understanding, and the ability to draw simple inferences from the text.
Section B: Writing Skills (25 Marks)
The Writing Skills section was one of the most important parts of the paper. It evaluated the students’ ability to express ideas clearly and correctly in written Limboo. The section included Essay Writing, which carried the highest individual marks. In addition, students were required to complete Translation tasks and write Applications or formal Letters, testing their practical and functional writing skills.
Section C: Applied Grammar (15 Marks)
Section C focused on grammar and language usage. This section assessed students’ understanding of grammatical rules, sentence formation, and correct word usage. It consisted of Short Answer and Very Short Answer questions, ensuring that students had a strong foundation in the structural aspects of the Limboo language.
Section D: Literature (25 Marks)
The Literature section, equal in weight to Writing Skills, tested students’ knowledge of the prescribed Limboo textbooks. Questions were based on prose and poetry and required students to explain themes, characters, and contexts. Short questions also examined factual recall and awareness of the authors and poets included in the syllabus.
Overall Paper Pattern
The Limboo theory paper followed a well-balanced structure, giving equal importance to reading, writing, grammar, and literature. To score well, students needed strong composition skills, a clear understanding of grammar, and in-depth knowledge of the prescribed literary texts.
