Engineering entrance exams in India. Today, most of the entrance exams are based on multiple choice question entrance exams . Some of these exams are considered among the toughest in the world, where lakhs of students competing for  few no. of seats. For Example in IIT JEE exam every year about 12,00,000 students appear for 9885 seats across 17 IIT colleges.

In India generally Engineering colleges admit maximum students through the national-level entrance exam and the remaining are based on their scores in the entrance exam conducted by the state universities although a large chunk of college admits student on basis of come and take admission without any passing criteria of class 12th but now few rules of AICTE has made it mandatory to have minimum 45% marks during class 12th.

Students who have completed their 10 + 2 or equivalent examination under state university with Physics , Chemistry , Math ( PCM ) are allowed for this entrance exams.

List of Top Engineering Entrance Exams in India with cost of form are:

1. JEE Main : –

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)  conducts All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) which will be known as Joint entrance exam (JEE) main for taking admission into various under-graduate engineering and architecture courses.  30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and 5 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) as well as many other Institutes accepts JEE Main score . Now on JEE will be same for IIT,s , NIT,s and IIIT . The examination is generally held on the last Sunday of April and results are announced in the last week of May.

2. JEE Advance : –

Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs) are the premier engineering and technological institutes in India playing a leading role in technological manpower development of the country .Till now  every year an all India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted by which is popularly known as JEE  Advance for taking admission into the Undergraduate Program offered by IITs along with  ISM Dhanbad and IIT BHU Varanasi .

3. BITSAT : –

BITSAT  is a computer based online test for taking admission into all the integrated first degree programmes of Birla Institute of Technology, at Pilani , Goa , and Hyderabad Campus . BITSAT is conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani and is scheduled in the month of May to June 2015.

4. UPSEE : –

UPSEE Entrance Exam is conducted by Gautam Budhh Technical University (GBTU) for taking admission into various courses like  Engineering, Pharmacy ,  Fashion & Design, Architecture & Management etc . The Engineering Entrance exam will have questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

5. WBJEE : –

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is organized by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for taking admission into various professional courses in various fields of Engineering /Architecture/ Technology / Medical / Dental  and Pharmacy in various Universities/Colleges in West Bengal . A large number of candidates from across the state of West Bengal appear for WBJEE 2015 every year for admission in these courses.
Candidates who will apply for WBJEE has to pay application fee Rs 500/- (Rs five hundred) only through online mode (an extra service charge of Rs 6/- has to be paid by the candidates).

6. VITEEE : –

VITEEE  is an entrance exam  is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology(VIT) for taking admission  into various undergraduate engineering programs in . Students from all round the country can participate in this exam as it is one of the reputed entrance exams in India. The students with Non-Resident Indian (NRI) status can also apply for this exam . The exam will be held on Last week of the April.

7. TNEA : –

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions is conducted by Anna University which enables a Single window admission process for taking admission into Engineering and Technology courses in various engineering departments of Anna Universities, as well as different Government & Government Aided Engineering Colleges and some Self-Financing Engineering Colleges. Any Indian Nationality students are eligible for this exam.

8. CETK : –

Karnataka’s Common Entrance Test – CETK is a state level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority which allow to take an admission into Engineering , Dental ,Medical  as well as Architecture courses in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka.

For taking admission into Engineering courses through CETK , candidates must appear for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects & for admission into Architecture course , candidates must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.
