Many students from all over the globe seek to take admission in the universities of New Zealand, though unfortunately many are unable to do so due to different problems like financial need. So the New Zealand government and many of the private foundations have started the provision of providing the scholarship to the international students who are extra – ordinarily talented and meritorious, but due to financial need or some other problem can’t afford to take admission.
Given below are some of the scholarships available for the international students for admission in the degree of Masters in New Zealand. But the list contains mainly those scholarships in which Indian students are eligible.
The scholarships available for admission in the degree of Masters in New Zealand are:
1. Commonwealth Scholarship
It is an international program under which the member governments offer scholarships and fellowships to the citizens of other Commonwealth countries. It is reviewed by the education ministers at their triennial meetings that it is the only scholarship scheme in the world to receive such high – level recognition. As part of this program New Zealand offers Commonwealth Scholarships for the Master’s and PhD study.
Eligibility: International candidates who are holding their bachelors’ degree with excellent marks are eligible for the scholarship.
Scholarship Amount: Amount which would be cover all the academic expenses for the period of the course.

2. Reserve Bank of New Zealand University Scholarship
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand offers the scholarships for students studying Economics, Finance and Banking at any university in New Zealand.
Eligibility: Any international applicants who must be registered or studying full time at any university in New Zealand and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand are eligible. Students should also have attained at least a B+ average.
Scholarship Amount: $ 10,000
How to Apply: All the applications need to be done online. Once the applications are done, short listing of the candidates will be done. Once short listing has been completed, only the successful applicants will be asked to attend a half day interview process at the Bank in Wellington. This generally takes place at the beginning of February.
3. John Jones Steel Master’s Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2011 by John Jones Steel to support the research related to steel structures. It is especially for the Master of Engineering students in the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering.
Eligibility: International students enrolled or to be enrolled in a Master of Engineering degree by thesis in the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering, who are or will be engaged in the research related to steel structures are eligible for this scholarship. They must be hold their bachelor’s degree with very good marks.
Scholarship Amount: $ 25,000
How to Apply: The candidates need to apply online. The applications forms would be available from approximately 8 weeks ahead of the closing date. All details regarding it are mentioned in the website.
