Direction (1-3): Study the following information and answer the given questions:

In A-Z each letter except M, N, P is assigned a different number from 1-9. Vowels are assigned symbols. M, N, and P are 1,4,9 respectively. (for ex- B is coded as 1, C-2…L-9)and again those numbers get repeated(for ex- Q-1,R-2 …Z-9).

(i) If both first and last letters are vowels then all the vowels must be coded as @

(ii) If the word starts with M, N or P, then the vowels are to be coded as *.

(iii) If the first letter of a word is a vowel and the last letter is consonant then the vowel is to be coded as #. If there are any other vowels in the sentence, it is to be coded as ^.

(iv) If the first letter is a consonant and it is followed by a vowel, then the vowels are to be coded as

(If the word does not satisfy the conditions given above then the letters of that word are to be coded as per the directions are given above and the vowels are to be coded as &)

Direction (4-6): There are two rows given and to find out the resultant of a particular row we need to follow the following steps: –

Step 1: If an even number is followed by an odd (prime) number then the resultant will be the addition of both the numbers.

Step 2: If an odd number is followed by a perfect square then the resultant will be the difference between the square number and the odd number.

Step 3: If an odd number is followed by another odd number (but not a perfect square) then the resultant will be the addition of both the numbers.

Step 4: If an even number is followed by an odd (non-prime) number then the resultant will be the difference between the odd number and the even number.

Step 5: If an odd number is followed by an even number then the resultant comes by multiplying the numbers.

                      8     5     7

For eg:     8 + 5= 13(from step 1). Now look for the condition between the resultant and the next number i.e 13 & 7 so resultant of 1st row is 13+7 = 20
