NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY SOURCES
NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY SOURCES
To know about different non conventional energy sources first of all we will know about non conventional energy.
NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY:
The energy generated by using tides, wind, geothermal heat, solar, biomass(farm and animal waste as well as human excreta) are known as non conventional energy. All the above mentioned sources are renewable and causes no enviorment pollution also they do not require any heavy expenditure.
NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY SOURCES:
The different non conventional energy sources are:
- Wind energy
- Tidal energy
- Solar energy
- Geothermal energy
- Energy from biomass
WIND ENERGY:
The flowing wind is the source for production of energy in case of wind energy. And it is done by setting up wind mills in high wind flowing areas which can be used for various purposes like pumping water, grinding grains, and most importantly generating electricity. The speed of the wind should be above 20km perhour for establishing windmill.
TIDAL ENERGY:
As we know that sea water keeps rising and falling due to gravitational pull of moon and sun and it is known as tide. This tides are used to generate energy.
SOLAR ENERGY:
As sun is the source of all the energy in the earth it is considered as the most abundant and universal source of energy. As all other sources of energy draws their strength from sun it is very essential for all non conventional energy sources. The different technologies developed for use of solar energy are as follow:
- Cooking
- Water heating
- Water dissimilation
- Space heating
- Crop drying
GEOTHERMAL ENERGY:
The heat present in interior of earth crust is called as geothermal energy. They occurs in the form of hot spring and are used to generate energy.
ENERGY FROM BIOMASS:
All the waste from farm, animal, human excreta are the sources of biomass. These waste are putted in tanks for few period of time than energy is produced.
NON HAZARDOUS ENERGY FROM NUCLEAR WASTE:
NUCLEAR WASTE:
After the use of nuclear fuel in the reactor the material left behind is called as nuclear waste. The types of nuclear waste are as follow:
- High leval waste
- Mill taillings
- Low leval waste
As we know that nuclear waste is over 90% of uranium so it is chemically processed and placed in advance fast reactor which close the fuel cycle ans results in much less nuclear waste and more energy extracted from raw ores. Genrally nuclear waste remains radioactive for few humdred years and by this it solves the problem of long term storage.

Non conventional energy sources are the excellent form of energy generation, it also has renewal source of energies like tidal waves and wind….. one must go through the post its really very hepful to get these known to us
The article is about the brief note on the Non-conventional energy.Every type is explained individually.Going through the article will give the complete idea about energy and can be useful for study purpose !!!!
Non- Conventional energy includes, wind energy , geothermal energy, tidal energy etc. These are most important forms of energy so we must use it properly.
