The Staff selection Commision has introduced a new vacancy of scientific assistant this year in the Indian Meteorological Department. This is the golden chance for the students who want to go in technical field. This post helps you to know the important aspects of the exam and to prepare well for the exam .

Physics, Computer Science

Total time allotted for both the parts is – 120 minutes

STRATEGY FOR ENGLISH

English is a vast subject and one should have a focused preparation for this subject.

It mainly includes-

1. Reading Comprehension
2. Spotting Error
3. Fill in the blank4. Cloze test
4. Para-Jum

To make a good attempt in english one should focus more on cloze tests and comprehension passages.

1. Time management is most important in such exams. You should manage time in such a way that you can attempt maximum question in minimum time.
2. Your vocabulary should be up to mark as comprehension can be easily solved on the basis of this.
3. Error detection should be a priority for candidates .
4. If you will follow the above mentioned things, english will become easy and attemptable for you.

 

STRATEGY FOR REASONING AND GENERAL INTELLIGENCE

The reasoning and general intelligence will mainly cover following topics-

As this is an exam for scientific assistant post so the level will be bit high.

1. The more you practice, the more you will be refined in reasoning.
2. Reasoning is easy to understand but requires a lot of practice.
3. Sometimes the question covering topics like sitting arrangement and puzzle are bit difficult so you should not waste much time on them.
4. Fix your time for each section.

 

STRATEGY FOR QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE

8. Miscellaneous Questions – which includes questions from different topics like – Average, Profit Loss, Time & Work, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Distance, Problem on Ages, Partnership, SI & CI, Boats & Streams, etc

1. This section is the most scoring one in any exam.
2. There will be less chances of mistake in this section if your concepts are clear.
3. You should focus for on data interpretation and simplification as these topics will cover the maximum marks.
4. Maths also requires a lot of practice.

 

STRATEGY FOR GENERAL AWARENESS

The main topics to be covered under this section are-

Current Affairs – Questions can be asked from various fields such as: National, International, Awards, Sports, Defense, Summits, Appointment, Books & Authors and Obituary etc.

2. For general awareness you should read newspaper in routine.

 

STRATEGY FOR PART 2 (TECHNICAL)

1. Your technical part should be strong then only you can clear this exam .
2. As this section will cover the maximum marks so main focus should be on this section.
3. Practice the tough engineering numericals .
4. Remember the computer commands.
5. The probability of numericals is high as compared to theory.
