REFERENCE BOOKS OF IES FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING
INTRODUCTION TO INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES (IES) :-
The IES entrance examination is conducted by the Indian Government body Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). UPSC conducts many entrance examinations for the public sectors and IES is one of them where the aspiring and qualified students gets privilege to work in the esteemed government departments. Indian railways, telecommunication and defense are some of the sectors which opens their way by clearing the IES entrance examination.
PATTERN OF IES EXAMINATION:
The IES exam constitutes of two entirely different sections which are as follows:-
SECTION I comprises of two parts which are general studies and awareness which is same for all students.
SECTION II comprises of the objective questions related to the respective technical branch. It differs from branch to branch.
Computer science engineering is related to the programming and structures. It includes many programming language like C, C++, JAVA and many more. If right and exact terminology is followed in solving the technical programs then cracking the IES examination becomes easy.

Some points need to be considered to crack the IES examination easily which are provided below:
- All the answers to the questions must be answered in English.
- The answers once written should not be scribbled as it could result in deduction of marks.
- Legible handwriting must be practiced as points up to 5% are deducted for illegitimate handwriting.
- In the examination the S.I units should be properly mentioned.
- Marks are allotted for proper and effective writing of answers in the technical questions
