The Rajasthan Public Service Commission has entered one of its busiest months of the year. The RPSC interview schedule for July is packed, with panels running in parallel at the Ajmer headquarters, the application window for the Assistant Prosecution Officer examination closed on July 7, and lakhs of aspirants are deep into preparation for the RAS prelims scheduled on November 29. This update brings together everything an RPSC aspirant needs to track this month, along with a preparation roadmap for each stage. Official schedules, admit cards and notices are published on the RPSC website.
RPSC Interview Marathon in Ajmer This July
The commission has lined up interviews for several recruitments in quick succession. Candidates should note their phase dates and report with complete document sets.
- Assistant Professor, History: the tenth phase of interviews runs from July 6 to July 17.
- Assistant Professor, Sanskrit: shortlisted candidates appear between July 6 and July 16.
- Physical Training Instructor: the final phase of interviews is being held from July 6 to July 10.
- Librarian and medical faculty posts: interviews continue through July at the RPSC headquarters in Ajmer.
Interview letters carry the reporting time and the list of original documents required. Reach Ajmer a day early if you are travelling from a distant district, and carry two sets of self attested photocopies along with originals.
APO Examination on September 2
The application window for the Assistant Prosecution Officer examination closed on July 7, and the commission has announced September 2 as the examination date. Candidates now have roughly eight weeks. The paper rewards command over the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Evidence Act and recent criminal law reforms, along with Rajasthan general knowledge. Build a two stage plan: finish the bare acts with case law by mid August, then spend the final fortnight on previous year papers and mock tests. Keep an eye on the admit card release around ten days before the examination.
RAS Prelims on November 29: Where You Should Be Now
The RAS and subordinate services examination, with more than 600 vacancies this cycle, remains the flagship recruitment on the RPSC calendar. The prelims on November 29 is a single objective paper of general knowledge and general science in which Rajasthan specific content decides the merit far more than aspirants expect.
With nearly five months in hand, a sound sequence looks like this. Complete the static core of Rajasthan history, art and culture, geography, polity and economy by the end of August. September and October belong to the India level syllabus and daily current affairs revision. November is exclusively for mock tests and elimination technique, because the RAS prelims rewards accuracy under uncertainty.
Rajasthan art and culture alone often contributes 25 to 30 questions, so prepare it from a dedicated source rather than general study material. A focused Rajasthan GK and previous year paper set from Online Khan Market covers this segment well. Aspirants who prepare RAS alongside UPSC benefit from shared foundations in polity, economy and geography, and mentorship from the best IAS coaching in Delhi can compress that common syllabus into a much shorter cycle.
For 2027 and 2028 Aspirants
Students targeting future RAS cycles should treat this year as foundation time. Read Rajasthan Board and NCERT books for history and geography, follow one newspaper daily, and maintain a Rajasthan current affairs diary covering state schemes, budgets and awards. Attempt this year’s prelims paper on November 29 as a benchmark from home. The gap between your score and the cut off will tell you exactly what the next 18 months must deliver.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will the RAS prelims admit card release?
RPSC typically releases admit cards about a week before the examination on its portal. Watch the official website and SSO portal for the download link.
Is there negative marking in RAS prelims?
Yes. One third of a question’s marks are deducted for each wrong answer, and leaving too many blanks also attracts scrutiny under the current marking rules, so practise calculated attempts.
Can candidates from other states apply for RAS?
Yes, they can apply in the unreserved category. Reservation benefits apply only to Rajasthan domicile candidates.
