Today IBPS RRB Po prelims occured. Most of you are worried about the questions beings asked in IBPS RRB PO Prelims exam for quantitative aptitude. The exam conducted in four slot two in morning and two in evening.

IBPS RRB PO prelims question paper had 80 questions to be answered in 45 minutes.

The IBPS RRB PO prelims had only two sections quants and reasoning. Thats the big relief!! Isin’t it?

Marking scheme:-

If you answer question right then you will be given 1 mark but if you answer any question wrong there is penalty of 0.25 marks deduction.

Here is the quantitative aptitute question which came in ibps rrb po prelims examination.

Arithmetic:

  1. Upstream moving boat covers 50 km in 4 hours. The speed of the boat is 20 km/hr. Find the distance covered by the downstream boat in 4 hours.

Sol. Upstream speed=50/4=12.5km/hr
Boat=(Downstream + Upstream)/2
20=(Downstream + 12.5)/2
Downstream speed = 27.5

  1. A invests Rs. 7000 and B invest Rs. 6000. After 8 months B leaves. Total annual profit is Rs. 6050. Find A’s profit.

Sol. A:B = (7000*12)/(6000*8) = 7 : 4 A’s share is 6050/11*7
=3850

  1. Monthly income of Rohit and Mahesh is 2:1 and their expenses are 8000 and 6000 respectively. The ratio of their savings is 3:1. find Rohit’s annual income.

Sol. Let Income of Rohit and Mahesh is 2x and x
And savings are 3y and y
2x – 3y = 8000
x -y = 6000
By solving these we get, x =10000
Rohit’s monthly salary is 2x = 20000
Annual salary of Rohit is 12000*12 = 240000

  1. Salary of a person decreased by 20% per year, after 3 years. What will be the percentage of decreased salary in respect of total salary?

Sol. Used Successive in this question
-20%-20%+400/100 = -36%
-36%-20%+720/100 = 48.8%

  1. If the average of three numbers n1, n2, n3 is 37 and two numbers n1 and n2 average is 23, then what will be the 2/5th of the third number?

Sol. Third Number is 37+ 14 + 14 =65. ⅖ of 65 is 26.

  1. Father was twice of his elder son 10 years ago, if their age difference is 15, and younger son is 3 years small in the age of elder son, then what is the present age of younger son?

Sol. Ratio of father and elder son is 2:1 10 years ago and difference is 15 years
Present age of elder son is 15 + 10 =25 years
present age of younger son is 25 – 3 =22

  1. When 40% of a number is added with that number and its result multiplied by 20, then result becomes 560. Find the number?

Sol. 560/20=28 28/140%*100% is 20.

  1. 2 person’s monthly salary ratio is 2:1, and their expenditure are 8000, 6000 respectively, their savings is in ratio 3:1, what is the annual salary of the first person?

Sol. Let Income of Rohit and Mahesh is 2x and x
And savings are 3y and y
2x – 3y = 8000
x -y = 6000
By solving these we get, x =10000
Rohit’s monthly salary is 2x = 20000
Annual salary of Rohit is 12000*12 = 240000

  1. One person invest rupees 8400 for a year and another person 7200 for 8 months, if their total profit is 6050 then what will be the profit of the first person?

Sol. A:B = (7000*12)/(6000*8) = 7 : 4 A’s share is 6050/11*7
=3850

  1. Upstream of a boat is 12.5 km/hr and boat in still water is 20 km/hr then distance covered by a boat in 4 hours in downstream?

Sol. Downstream =2*Boat Speed -Upstream
Downstream = 2*20-12.5= 27.5 km/hr
distance covered in downstream is 27.5 * 4 = 110 km
