National Institute of Fashion Technology, short form NIFT is the fashion institute in India which was set up in 1986 first in New Delhi. Later in 2006, it was granted the statutory status under the act of Parliament to award degrees and other academic distinctions. After that slowly – slowly the NIFT colleges started opening in different places like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, etc. The semester wise fees of it is Rs. 81000/-, but for the NRIs the fees is Rs. 517800 per year, i.e., per two semesters. Each of the colleges under NIFT have total 30 seats. The colleges under NIFT are:-

This college was established in 1986 and got its status granted by the act of Parliament in 2006. This grant empowered it to award degrees and other academic distinctions. This is also the Headquarter of the whole NIFT group.

2.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai

This college was established in 1995 and has attained national reputation for its status and quality of education. It has been ranked 2 by the EducationWorld C-fore survey 2013.

3.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore

This college of NIFT was set up in 1986. Since then it has emerged itself as one of the premier institutes of Design, Management and Technology. It has consistently set high academic standards.

4. National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar

This college was established in 2004. This college claims to offer excellence in fashion education, research and training. They also groom the students for leadership position in the fashion world.

5.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad

This was founded in 1995 and was positioned at Chenetha Bhavan, Nampally, Hyderabad. Later it was repositioned to Madhapur where it gained a sprawling five – acre campus. The new campus got inaugurated on 20 May, 1999.

6.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai

This college was established in 1986 as an autonomous body. It had an aim to cater to the manpower needs of the fashion. Over the years they have been fostering the environment of education through innovation, creativity and excellence.

7.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kolkata

In 1995, this college started in a hired campus of Manjusha Bhavan, Salt Lake. Though the facilities there were limited, they had a strong team which empowered their minds. Later in 1999 they shifted to their own campus which is in Salt Lake itself.

8.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal

Being established in 2008, this college became the latest addition in the list of NIFT colleges. Since then through its continuous struggle of providing quality education and hard work they have reached at this rank.

9.       National Institute of Fashion Technology, Patna

This college started in June 2008. It was previously situated in the prestigious Udyog Bhavan, Gandhi Maidan, Patna. This college is a pioneer in envisioning and evolving fashion business education in the country.

10.   National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kangra

This college began in August 2009 and was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Textile and Hon’ble CM of Himachal Pradesh. It is 2km away from Kangra Bust Stand and 8km away from airport.
