What do you mean by platform independence?
Ans : Platform independence means that we can write and compile the java code in one platform (eg Windows) and can execute the class file in any other supported platform eg (Linux,Solaris,etc).
Are JVM’s platform independent?
Ans : JVM’s (Java Virtual Machines) are not platform independent. Java Virtual Machine’s are platform specific run time implementation provided by the vendor.
What is a pointer and does Java support pointers?
Ans : Java doesn’t support Pointer, Pointer is a reference handle to a memory location (like a reference address postman category). Improper handling of pointers leads to memory leaks and reliability issues hence Java doesn’t support the pointers.
Are arrays primitive data types?
Ans : no, in Java Arrays are objects.
What are local variables?
Ans : Local variables are those which are declared within a block of code. Their life time is only within the loop ,Local variables should be initialized before accessing them.
