CBSE Class 10 Arabic Marking Scheme (2017-18)

This marking scheme sets out how the CBSE Class 10 Arabic exam gets evaluated. It’s for a 3-hour paper totaling 80 marks, split across four sections. It uses value points from the textbook “Minhaj al-Ta’lim al-Thanawi al-A’ali (Class X)”.

Section A: Reading Skills (10 Marks)

Question 1 asks for simple answers on an unseen passage. Marks break down as 1 for “الإبل”, 1 for “سنامان”, and 8 for “تطـيب الإبل الصحراء” (total 10 marks).

Section B: Writing Skills (10 Marks)

Question 2: Write a short paragraph or letter to the principal (2 for title, 1 for expression, 1 for unity and sequence; total 4 marks).

Question 3: Fill in blanks with words like “ثلاثة” or “سبع” (2 marks).

Question 4: Correct sentences such as “دخلت” or “وجودان” (2 marks).

Question 5: Make sentences using Mansoobat, like “إنَّ حامدا ذا…” (2 marks).

Section C: Grammar & Translation (20 Marks)

Question 6: Define and illustrate four Marfoo‘aat (3 for definition, 2 for examples; total 5 marks).

Question 7: Define and illustrate sound plural (3 for definition, 2 for efficiency; total 5 marks).

Question 8: Translate English to Arabic (5 marks).

Question 9: Translate Arabic to English (5 marks).

Question 10: More translation tasks (9+9 for accuracy, 2+2 for efficiency; total 20 marks).

Section D: Literature (40 Marks)

Question 11: MCQs on pronouns (2 marks).

Question 12: Fill in blanks (2 marks).

Question 13: Explain four poetry verses (10 for content, 5 for expression; total 15 marks).

Question 14: Give the central idea (2 for content and method, 1 for relevance; total 3 marks).
