There are various top B-schools in India. Universities and institutions either admit students through a common entrance exam or conduct their own entrance examination. Needless to say, many students remain unaware of various exams and lessen the chances of their selection. Coming to help such students we have created a list of top exams for MBA in India along with their complete details.
CAT
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based test held in India and is conducted in October and November. In 2025 CAT registration dates are from August 1 to September 20. It scores a person based on Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability in the first section and Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability in the second section. Every year, one of the IIMs conducts this test based on a rotational policy.

IIFT
IIFT is conducted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. There will be four rounds for selection- Written Test, Group Discussion, Essay Writing, and Interview.

The Management Aptitude Test is conducted by the All India Management Association to identify potential students for management courses all over India. MAT takes place four times a year in February, May, September, and December. It was initially a paper-pencil test, but since 2009, it has been available both in paper-pencil and computer-based formats. The test evaluates the five areas mentioned: Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Indian and Global Environment, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Data Analysis and Sufficiency.

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a must-test exam conducted to seek admission to the postgraduate programs at Symbiosis International University. SNAP generally takes place in mid-December.
There are four sections to the test:
1. General English- 40 marks
Reading Comprehension
Verbal Reasoning
Verbal Ability
2. Quant (40 marks) – Quant, Data Interpretation, and Data Sufficiency
3. General Awareness (40 marks) General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Business Scenario
4. Analytical & Logical Reasoning (60 marks)

ICFAI Business School conducts the IBS Aptitude Test (IBSAT) which is 2 hours in duration and tests ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning, and reading comprehension. Eligibility includes graduation in any discipline with a minimum 50% marks; with English as a medium of instruction.

NMAT is an entrance exam for admission into MBA courses at NMIMS Mumbai, NMIMS Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. A candidate can attempt for NMAT up to 3 times maximum. There has to be a gap of a minimum of 15 days between two successive attempts. For a candidate having multiple attempts, the maximum score (total and sectional) is considered the final score for shortlisting.

Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT is conducted by the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) for admission in post-graduate programs in management courses of various management colleges. There are two sections in the test. Section 1 has 3 decision-making, Verbal and Logical Abilities Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation of 25, 30, and 36 minutes respectively. Section 2 is Essay Writing and General Awareness and this section is of 40 minutes.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS) in Mumbai conducts a common entrance test i.e. TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET).

AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is a national MBA entrance exam which is conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS)
