National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a medical entrance exam for undergraduate and post graduates conducted by CBSE. The NEET – UG mainly replaced the AIPMT and all individual medical entrance exams which are conducted by the state of the colleges themselves. There are about 353 medical colleges under NEET only for MBBS program. The first NEET exam was held on 5^th May 2013. Here we have provided the details of the colleges coming under NEET for MBBS course.

1.     Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi:-

A government medical college in New Delhi which is named after the freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad who was also the first education minister of independent India. This is affiliated to University of Delhi.

2.     VMMC & Safdarganj Hospital, New Delhi:-

This medical college is attached with one of the famous hospitals of Delhi, the Safdarganj Hospital. This college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University.

3.     University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi:-

This college is affiliated to University of Delhi. This college along with Maulana Azad Medical College and Lady Hardinge Medical College form the trifecta of the medical institutes in New Delhi.

4.     Govt. Medical College, Kozhikode:-

Established in 1957 this is the second medical college in Kerala and is one of the premier medical education center in the state. This college is affiliated to University of Calicut and Kerala Institute of Health Sciences.

5.  Seth G. S. Medical College, Mumbai:-

Affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences this college was founded in 1926. This college consistently is in the top twenty five medical colleges in India.

6.     Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi:-

Established in 1916, this medical college is specialized for women. This is located near the Connaught Place in New Delhi and along with Maulana Azad Medical College and University of Medical Sciences form the trifecta of Medical Institutions. This is affiliated to Delhi University.

8.     Govt. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram:-

Founded in 1951 by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru is the oldest and most prestigious medical college in Kerala. There are plans to upgrade this college to the status of AIIMS.

This college started in 1991 in Prayaas Building in Sector – 38. This started to increase pressure on already existing PGIMER and Government Multi – speciality Hospital, Sector – 16 due to high patient influx.

This college is a premier college in Jaipur which was established in 1947. It was the 15^th medical institution of India.

This college is situated at a distance of 240 km from Chandigarh and about 70 km from Delhi. This was established in 1960.

13.    Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner:-

This college was founded in 1959 and was recognized by Medical Council of India. This was inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and was the second medical college of Rajasthan.

14.     Madras Medical College, Chennai:-

Established on 2 February 1835 this college is the second oldest medical college in India after Medical College, Kolkata. Here almost 5000 medical and paramedical students study.

This is a prominent government college of Kerala which is about 8km to the north of Kottayam in central Kerala. This was established in December 1962and is the third – run medical college in Kerala.

17.  T. D. Medical College, Alappuzha:-

This college was established in 1963 under T. D. Temple at Anantha Narayana Puram of Alappuzha. Later it was handed over to Medical College management. This is perhaps the only medical college of the state which is having both college and hospital on the side of National Highway.

18.  Govt. Medical College, Thrissur:-

A leading center of medical education in Kerala which was established in 1982. It got affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences in 2009.
