INTRODUCTION

It is the discipline that applies mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in the insurance and finance industries. Actuaries are professionals who are qualified in this field through education and experience. In many countries,actuaries must demonstrate their competence by passing a series of rigourous professional examinations. It includes a number of interrelating subjects including probability , mathematics ,statistics , finance , economics and computer programming. it used deterministic models in the construction of tables and premiums.the science has gone through revolutionary changes during last 30 yrs due to the proliferation of high speed computers and the union of scholastic actuarial models with modern financial theory.

 

ELIGIBILITY

The eligibility for pursuing this course is higher secondary examinations i.e 10+2. The duration of this course is 3 yrs.

 

Job prospects

Actuarial trainess could earn Rs. 25000/- a  month before becoming a registered actuary , apprentice , project manager, insurance officer. As an actuary one is required to make financial sense of the future. A strong inclination towards mathematics and finance is required in this field.  It is the course with 100% job guarantee. It is the primary sector in which you would work.one can work in statistical wings of the govt.
