Many students from all over the globe seek to take admission in different universities of the world, but unfortunately many are unable to do so due to different problems like the financial need, etc. So some foundations decided and started the provision of providing the scholarship to the international students who are extra – ordinarily meritorious, talented and due to their financial need or some of their other problems, they can’t afford to take the admission.

Given below are some of the common international scholarships which are available for especially the Indian graduates for admission in the degree of Masters.

Common International Scholarships for Indian Students1.       The Paul Foundation Scholarship

The Paul Foundation Scholarships are given to Indian Students who wish to pursue higher (post graduate) studies in India or abroad. It is meant to promote the individual’s quest for intellectual excellence.
Eligibility: Any eligible Indian student holding a first class degree of their highest qualification, i.e., undergraduation.
Scholarship Amount: The value that would be covering full expenses of academic, travel and living for two years.
How to Apply: The candidates need to submit the duly filled – in application forms of the foundation with a comprehensive official evidence of the candidate’s academic achievements and the letter of application, along with the receipt / acknowledgement for admission to a course of study in the top ranked universities, institutes or centers, in India or abroad. Along with the academic records, a 2000 word essay, which is a statement of purpose, based on the applicant’s understanding of his / her subject and a 300 word personal profile is required to be submitted by the applicant based on which his / her academic potential will be assessed. The final interviews will take place in June – July every year. All the applicants must be available for interviews in India. Candidates who do not receive any communication must assume their application to be unsuccessful.

2.       Bharat Petroleum Scholarships

This scholarship is provided to those students who have demonstrated all around brilliance and have a passion to achieve excellence in their chosen field.
Eligibility: Any eligible international students who are able to demonstrate their all round brilliance and have a passion to achieve the excellence in their chosen field.
Scholarship Amount: The value that would be covering full expenses of academic, travel and living for two years.

Common International Scholarships for Indian Students3.       Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan

It is an international program under which the Commonwealth governments which includes India, Canada, the UK, Australia, and more are offered scholarships and fellowships to the citizens of other Commonwealth countries.
Eligibility: Any eligible international students who are able to demonstrate their all round brilliance, have a passion to achieve the excellence in their chosen field, is holding their bachelors’ or equivalent degree and belongs to a Commonwealth country are eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship Amount: The value that would be covering full expenses of academic, travel and living for the total duration of the course.
How to Apply: The candidates need to login fill up and submit their application form online which is available at the website.

4.       Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarships

The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries that have no other means of financing their studies, in order to prepare them for employment, primarily within the AKDN.
Eligibility: Any international candidates who have consistently excellent academic records, genuine financial need, have a call letter for the admission to a highly reputable university or programme of study and must have a relevance of the field of study to AKDN’s focus areas.
Scholarship Amount: The amount that would be covering the expenses of academics, tuition fees, books, living and accommodation, etc. will be given but half of the scholarship amount will be considered as a loan, which must be reimbursed with an annual service charge of 5%.
How to Apply: The candidates need to obtain application forms as of January 1st each year from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services / Boards in their countries of current residence. The completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained. They should not be sent to Geneva.
